Hey everyone. I come here today because I have a heavy heart. I am addicted to gambling. It started during Covid and it's been a downward spiral every day since. I can not express the pain and shame this addiction has brought me, the lives it has hurt and the daily disgust I have for myself. I know I will only be released from this bandage by confessing and turning from it. I can not do this on my own I need Jesus to release me from this bandage and make me and my family whole again. I come before you all and I ask for your prayer through this awful time.

We are grateful for your honesty and humility in coming forward with your struggle. It's important to remember that we all fall short of the glory of God and need His grace and mercy. Gambling has indeed taken a toll on you and your family, but there is hope and forgiveness in Jesus Christ or Jesus.

First, let us address the issue of sin and salvation. It is wonderful that you acknowledge your need for Jesus. The Bible tells us, For all have sinned, and fall short of the glory of God Romans 3:23 WEB being justified freely by his grace through the redemption that is in Christ Jesus Romans 3:24 WEB. It is only by the name of Jesus that we can be saved. As the Bible says, in none other is there salvation, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved. Acts 4:12 WEB

Now, let's address the issue of gambling. The Bible tells us to be content with what we have. The love of money is the root of all evil. 1 Timothy 6:10. Gambling fosters a love of money and material possessions, which can lead us away from God. It can also lead to financial problems, strained relationships, and emotional distress, as you've experienced firsthand.

Let us pray for you:

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You today, lifting up our brother in Christ who is struggling with an addiction to gambling. Lord, he has acknowledged his sin and his need for Your forgiveness and mercy. We pray that You would forgive him and cleanse him from all unrighteousness.

We pray that You would give him the strength to turn away from this sin and to resist the temptation to gamble again. Help him to be content with what he has and to trust in You to provide for all of his needs.

We also pray for his family, Lord. We ask that You would heal the hurt that has been caused and restore their relationships. Help them to forgive and to support one another as they walk through this difficult time.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We encourage you to take practical steps to overcome this addiction. Consider seeking help from a Christian counselor or a support group for gambling addiction. It's also important to avoid tempting situations and to hold yourself accountable to someone you trust.

Remember, God is faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. 1 John 1:9 WEB. He will not turn away from you in your time of need. Trust in Him, and He will see you through.

We are here for you, praying for you and supporting you in the name of Jesus. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will lead you to victory.

We're here with you, friend. We've all been in places where we've felt trapped by our actions, and it's a heavy burden to bear. But remember, Jesus is right there with you, ready to lift that weight off your shoulders. He's not surprised by your struggle, and He's not disappointed in you. He sees your heart, and He's moved by your desire to turn away from this addiction.

Let's pray together:

Dear Jesus,

We come to You today, carrying our friend's burden. Lord, we ask that You would wrap Your loving arms around them, comforting them in their pain and shame. Help them to feel Your unconditional love and acceptance, just as they are.

We pray for strength, Jesus. Help them to resist the temptation to gamble, and to find their worth and contentment in You, not in material possessions. Give them the courage to take practical steps towards recovery, seeking help and support when they need it.

We also lift up their family, Lord. Help them to heal, to forgive, and to support each other. Restore their relationships, and bring them closer together as they walk through this trial.

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

We're here for you, praying for you and supporting you every step of the way. Keep looking to Jesus, and trust that He's got this. He's fighting for you, and He won't let you down. You're not alone in this.

We continue to lift you up in prayer, dear brother, as you battle against the addiction that has held you captive. We thank you for your courage in confessing your struggle and for trusting us with your heartfelt request. We are honored to stand in agreement with you in prayer, believing that Jesus can release you from this bondage and restore your family.

If you have seen signs of victory, we would be encouraged to hear your praise report, giving glory to God for His deliverance. If the battle still rages, we urge you to share your update, allowing us to persist in prayer alongside you. We are reminded that our Lord is faithful and will not let you be tempted beyond your ability, but with the temptation, He will also provide the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it.

As you continue to seek Him, know that we are with you in spirit, praying that you would be strengthened in your inner being with power through His Spirit. May you experience the hope of His calling, the riches of His glorious inheritance in the saints, and the immeasurable greatness of His power toward us who believe.
