We are with you, Hgd, in lifting up your husband to the Lord in prayer. It is a blessing to see your heartfelt concern for your spouse, and we encourage you to continue to intercede on his behalf.
Firstly, we commend you for your submission and acknowledging Jesus in your request. We are admonished in 1 Timothy 2:5 to, For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus. Since God is holy we are instructed in Colossians 3:17 And whatever you do in word or deed, do everything in the name of the Lord Jesus, giving thanks to God the Father through him. Heb 4:16 Let us therefore come boldly before the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need.
The Bible tells us in Proverbs 18:10, The name of Yahweh is a strong tower: the righteous run to him, and are safe. Psalm 46:1 encourages, God is our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble. We pray that your husband will experience God as his strong tower and refuge during this challenging time.
In moments of difficulty, it is essential to remember the Lord's promises. As Isaiah 41:10 tells us, do not fear, for I am with you; do not be dismayed, for I am your God. I will strengthen you and help you; I will uphold you with my righteous right hand.
It is also important that he will, Give your burdens to Yahweh, and he will take care of you. He will not allow the righteous to be shaken. Also meditate on 1 Peter 5:7 to, Cast all your worries upon him, for he cares for you, and Philippians 4:6 to, In nothing be anxious, but in everything, by prayer and petition with thanksgiving, let your requests be made known to God.
James 1:2-5 challenges us to, Count it all joy, my brothers, when you fall into various temptations, knowing that the testing of your faith produces endurance. Let endurance have its perfect work, that you may be perfect and complete, lacking in nothing. But if any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him. As verse 12 challenges, Blessed is the man who endures temptation, for when he has been approved, he will receive the crown of life, which the Lord promised to those who love Him. May our Heavenly Father enable him to submit to Him, to walk away from what's tempting him or may be provoking, to be complete and lacking nothing, knowing He will bring these blessings.
In this marriage, we also need to, First Timothy 4:16 , Be diligent to be blameless and guileless, children of God and flawless in the midst of a crooked and perverted generation, among whom you are seen as lights in the world. Be seen also by your husand, and this passage will be working in his life also as he commits to what is right and turns to our Heavenly Father through Christ. Finally I Peter 3:1-3 admonishes, In like manner, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; that, if any obey not the word, they may without the word be gained by the behavior of their wives,
2
seeing your chaste behavior coupled with fear.
3
Whose adorning, let it not be the outward adorning of braiding the hair, and of wearing jewels of gold, or of putting on fine apparel;
4
but let it be the hidden man of the heart, in that which is not corruptible, even the ornament of a meek and quiet spirit, which is in the sight of God of great price.
We also pray as Isaiah 26:3 reads, You will keep him in perfect peace whose imagination is stayed on you, because he trusts in you. Encourage him also as a husband as instructed in Psalm 23:1 Yahweh is my shepherd: I shall lack nothing.
He maketh me to lie down in green pastures.
He leadeth me beside still waters.
He restoreth my soul.
He guideth me in the paths of righteousness
for his name’s sake.
Yea, though I walk through the valley of the shadow of death,
I will fear no evil;
for thou art with me;
thy rod and thy staff, they comfort me.
Thy prepare a table before me in the presence of mine enemies;
Thou hast anointed my head with oil;
My cup runneth over.
5
Surely goodness and loving kindness shall follow me all the days of my life;
And I shall dwell in the house of Yahweh for ever.
For there are lessons to learn that have eternal values that lead to becoming partakers of God's character. A future better than this can happen. Remind Him of Jeremiah 29:11 For I know the thoughts that I think toward you, says Yahweh, thoughts of peace and not of evil, to give you hope in your final outcome.
Our Heavenly Father, we lift up Hgd's husband to You, asking that You be with him in this challenging time. We know that with your presence, this burden is lifted from his shoulders. There is a purpose behind all things, be they good or difficult, and we claim this to be no exception. We commit his family to God in prayer, submitting ourselves to him.
When God says to Ask and it shall be given to you or Matthew 7:7 , we seek not to be deprived. We place a claim on Psalm 22:28 , For the kingdom is Yahweh’s;
And he rules among the nations. With us as his believing church and family the reminder of Psalm 2:8 , and also for the expecting children and future believers to come forth through the family being the blessing of believers and the propagation of the next generation of believers as Isaiah 54:17.
To this end our commitment to our loving Father is first in this relationship knowing and submitting to your authority, See I John 4:4 , Greater is he that is in you, than he that is in the world. Romans 8:10 If Christ is in you, the body is dead because of sin, but the Spirit is alive because of righteousness. With the Holy Spirit being with us I Thessalonians 5:19 Do not quench the Spirit, we are under obligation as I Peter 4:8 says to, Have fervent love for one another, as I John 2:9-10 He who says he is in the light and hates his brother is in darkness even now. He who loves his brother abides in the light and there is no offense in him. Reminding that Prov 15:1 , A gentle answer turns away wrath,
And Jesus also said Mark 10:9 What therefore God has joined together, let no man put apart. With this forgiveness is a keystone to submitting to God Col 3:13 , Forgiving one another, if anyone has a complaint against anyone; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do.
Lord, with Your Holy Spirit let your guidance be shared through this family knowing this situation is understood to be a beginning for many blessings from this time forward with these your children dedicated to your service with I Corinthians 7:27.
Remembering Col 3:21 , Fathers, don’t provoke your children, so they won’t be discouraged. Ephesians 6:4 , Fathers, don’t provoke your children to anger, but nurture them in the discipline and instruction of the Lord. Also remembering Proverbs 13:24 He who spares the rod hates his son,
but one who loves him is careful to discipline him. This is being done as the results of obedience are continually expected and may not be subject to delayed obedience or repeated instruction because children should obey at all times and this training is for now and their future until Jesus returns. Colossians 3:20 . We ask that peace reigns in your household as a ministry in your home continues as an example. Finally, we would remind all of John 14:27 Peace I leave with you. My peace I give to you; not as the world gives, do I give to you. Don’t let your heart be troubled, neither let it be afraid.
