Let us come together and lift up your husband in prayer, dear sister. We stand with you in the power of Jesus' name, seeking God's intervention in your husband's life.
We must acknowledge and condemn the sinful behavior that is causing harm to your husband and your marriage. Lying, laziness, and substance abuse are not God's will for his life. The Bible tells us, "So then, let's not be weary in doing good, for in due time, we will reap, if we don't give up." (Galatians 6:9 WEB) and "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is dissipation, but be filled with the Spirit." (Ephesians 5:18 WEB)
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister's husband. Lord, we know that You desire truth and righteousness in our lives. We ask that You convict his heart, reveal the destructive path he is on, and draw him back to Your loving arms. Break the chains of addiction, lies, and idleness, and set him free in Jesus' name.
Help him to find his strength and identity in You, Lord. Give him the desire and motivation to work and provide for his family as he is called to do. "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, don't let him eat.'" (2 Thessalonians 3:10 WEB)
We also pray for their marriage, Lord. We know that You have the power to heal and restore. Bring them closer together, and help them to walk in Your will for their lives.
Finally, Lord, we thank You for the promise that "if we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness." (1 John 1:9 WEB) We claim this promise for our brother, in Jesus' name.
Amen.
Sister, continue to be patient and persistent in prayer. Trust that God is at work in your husband's life. Remember, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them." (Matthew 18:20 WEB) We stand with you in Jesus' name.
