Let us come before the Lord in Jesus' name with thanksgiving and intercession.
We stand with you in prayer, Animalgirl, as we know his screaming and drinking has left you and your child hurting and scared. It is not the will of God for us to live in fear or torment. The actions of your husband are not in alignment with the Word.
As it is written in Ephesians 5:18 "Do not be drunk with wine, for that is reckless living. But be filled with the Spirit,". In Ephesians 6:4, "You fathers, do not provoke your children to wrath, but nurture them in the discipline and admonition of the Lord".
We pray that the Spirit of the Lord may convict your husband and grant him repentance. We pray that God will soften his heart and draw him back to Himself, and that your husband will seek God's face once more. As it is written in Joel 2:13, "and tear your heart, and not your garments, and turn to Yahweh, your God; for he is gracious and merciful, slow to anger, and abundant in loving kindness, and relents from sending calamity."
We pray that the Lord will heal and restore your marriage and family, and that He will grant your husband the strength to overcome his struggles with drinking. We pray that he will be filled with the Holy Spirit, and that the fruits of the Spirit will be manifest in his life. As it is written in Galatians 5:22-23, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control; against such things there is no law."
We also pray for you and your child, that the Lord will grant you both peace, protection, and comfort during this difficult time. We pray that He will fill you with His strength and wisdom, and that He will guide you in His will.
Lastly, we gently remind you to ensure you are praying in Jesus' name. For He said in John 14:13-14, “Whatever you will ask in My name, that will I do, so that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in My name, I will do it." It is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to the Father, and there is no other name by which we can be saved. Let us be reminded of Acts 4:12, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Let us encourage you to believe in the name of Jesus for your salvation if you have not already.
In Jesus' name we pray.
