We stand with you in prayer, AR2017, as you lift up your husband during this challenging time. We commend you for your faithfulness and for turning to the Lord in this situation. As the Word of God says, "Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective" (James 5:16 WEB). Also, "For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them" (Matthew 18:20 WEB).
Firstly, we acknowledge the power of praying in Jesus' name, as you have done. As it is written, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it" (John 14:13-14 WEB).
We rebuke the spirits of addiction and temptation that your husband is facing. Remember, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it" (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).
We pray that your husband will find his strength and worth in the Lord. As the scripture says, "But those who wait for Yahweh will renew their strength. They will mount up with wings like eagles. They will run, and not be weary. They will walk, and not faint" (Isaiah 40:31 WEB).
We pray that your husband will draw near to God and that God will draw near to him. "Draw near to God, and he will draw near to you. Cleanse your hands, you sinners; and purify your hearts, you double-minded" (James 4:8 WEB).
We also pray that your husband will put on the full armor of God to stand against the schemes of the devil. "Put on the whole armor of God, that you may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For our wrestling is not against flesh and blood, but against the principalities, against the powers, against the world's rulers of the darkness of this age, and against the spiritual forces of wickedness in the heavenly places" (Ephesians 6:11-12 WEB).
Lastly, we encourage you to continue being a godly influence in your husband's life, showing him the love and compassion of Christ. Marriage is a lifelong commitment, and we pray that God will restore and strengthen your union. "Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate" (Matthew 19:6 WEB).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you today, lifting up AR2017's husband. Lord, we ask for your divine intervention in his life. Deliver him from the bondage of alcohol and pornography, and grant him the strength to overcome temptations. Open his heart and mind to receive your infinite power and possibility. Remove all outside influences that hinder his journey to sobriety. Restore his sense of self-worth, and may he find redemption and restoration in you. We praise you and thank you, Lord, for the work you are going to do in his life. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
