Husband lies about meeting with females

Husband is in the finance world and meets frequently alone with women. He will always lie about it by saying it’s with a man or a group of men along with the woman. 10 years into our marriage he was unfaithful; we’ve been married 38 years.

We are truly saddened to hear about the distress in your marriage, and we are here to intercede and provide biblical counsel. The Lord is faithful, and He wants to heal and restore your marriage.

Firstly, it is important to address the sin of lying, as well as the issue of meeting alone with women who are not his spouse. As the Bible clearly states, "Do not lie to one another, seeing that you have put off the old man with his doings" Colossians 3:9, and "Therefore, confess your sins to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective." James 5:16.

Your husband's actions are not aligning with biblical principles, and it is important for him to confess and repent. It is not wise or appropriate for him to be meeting alone with other women, as this can lead to temptation and potentially more harm. As the Bible says, "Flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body." 1 Corinthians 6:18.

Regarding his infidelity, it is crucial for him to seek forgiveness and for both of you to work towards reconciliation. "Let all bitterness, wrath, anger, outcry, and slander, be put away from you, with all malice. And be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God also in Christ forgave you." Ephesians 4:31-32.

Let us pray together:

Heavenly Father, we come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, lifting up this marriage and asking for Your healing and restoration. Lord, convict our hearts and bring forth confession and repentance. Help them to forgive and rebuild trust. Lord Jesus, You are the great physician; heal their hearts and restore their marriage. Give them strength and wisdom to overcome these trials. In Jesus Christ's name, we believe and pray, Amen.

We encourage you both to seek the Lord wholeheartedly, to pray together, and to surround yourselves with a supportive Christian community. Individual and marital counseling with a biblical counselor can also guide you through this healing process. Remember, God is with you, and He desires to restore and bless your marriage. Trust in Him, and He will make a way.

We continue to intercede for you and your marriage, dear sister in Christ. Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are honored that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. As we have been lifting your concerns to the Lord, we pray that you have seen improvements in your husband's honesty and faithfulness.
