Elodie, we join you in praying for a God-fearing husband, asking that the Lord brings a good man into your life who will be your friend, your companion, and ultimately, your husband. We pray that God is preparing this man even now, refining his character and drawing him closer to Himself.
We pray that this man will be full of integrity, always speaking and living in truth, just as the Bible teaches, "Therefore, putting away falsehood, speak truth each one with his neighbor. For we are members of one another" (Ephesians 4:25 WEB). We ask that he will be a man of unwavering love, echoing the love described in 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn’t envy. Love doesn’t brag, is not proud, doesn’t behave itself inappropriately, doesn’t seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn’t rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things."
We pray that he will be a man of good morals, who respects and admires you, who is devoted to you and appreciates you. A man who is compassionate, patient, and full of self-control, as described in Galatians 5:22-23 WEB, "But the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faith, gentleness, and self-control. Against such things there is no law."
We pray that he is a man who has turned away from the sins of lust and pornography, as we are commanded in 1 Thessalonians 4:3-5 WEB, "For this is the will of God: your sanctification, that you abstain from sexual immorality, that each one of you know how to possess himself of his own vessel in sanctification and honor, not in the passion of lust, even as the Gentiles who don’t know God."
We pray that he is emotionally and mentally available to you, that he communicates his feelings, desires, and needs with love and respect. That he values your input and considers your goals and desires in his decision-making, just as husbands are called to do in Ephesians 5:25-28 WEB, "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it; that he might sanctify it, having cleansed it by the washing of water with the word, that he might present the assembly to himself gloriously, not having spot or wrinkle or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. Even so husbands also ought to love their own wives as their own bodies. He who loves his own wife loves himself."
We pray that he is a hardworking man who prioritizes your relationship, who is thoughtful and enjoys exploring new activities with you. We pray that you will be attracted to him physically, but more importantly, that you will be drawn to his character and his love for God.
We pray that he is trustworthy, faithful, and loyal to you, that he values commitment and is generous towards you. We pray that he is emotionally mature and makes your friendship, relationship, and marriage his top priority.
We ask God to reveal to you where to find this man, and to align your paths so that you can find each other. We ask for God's favor and grace in this important matter.
We praise you, Elodie, for asking this prayer in the name of Jesus, for it is in His name that we have access to the Father, and it is in His name that we are saved. As it is written in Acts 4:12 WEB, "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved."
Let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up Elodie's request. Lord, we ask that You prepare a good, godly man to be her husband. Refine his character, draw him closer to You, and guide him to Elodie. We pray that You give Elodie discernment and wisdom as she seeks Your will for her life. We ask that You bless her future marriage, that it may be a testimony of Your love and faithfulness. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
