My husband was terminated Tuesday for not stating on his application he was terminated from his prior employer. He was terminated from his prior employer (job 1) because he had failed a drug test for prescription drugs but they were not his script! He had been periodically taking Adherol because of the stress of job 1. On job two's application he had written for his reason for quitting job one was because of the stress. Within a week of being terminated from job one, he had been hired by job two. Job two was a place where he had worked prior and the majority of the people there liked him; particularly the higher ups. No one through out any of the interviews ever inquired why he quit job one. Even though through the three and half years, the rumor was out there about my husband's termination failure of a drug test. During this time frame, two promotions and clean drug testing, he was terminated from job two. During the later portion of employment at job two, there was a guy that became a thorn in everyone's side. At work, the guy would not obey company rules, caused problems, emotionally distraught ie crying at work because of his home life, and at one point was carrying a tape recorder around recording conversations. My husband suggested to the higher ups that the guy receive psychology testing. When my husband was approached for his second promotion, the guy decided he wanted to the job too. My husband was "approached" and the guy had to "apply" for the upper position. Because of the guy's problems, the guy did not get the promotion. When my husband received this particular promotion, from that point on the guy started really giving my husband problems. When the guy found out why my husband "quit" his prior employer and figured he had not utilized the word terminated on the employee application, the guy got an attorney ie his cousin filed a lawsuit against the company stating among other things that my husband was harrassing him. My husband treated the guy with respect and was cordial but not buddy buddy... if the guy was not performing his tasks, the guy was written up. After reading through the lawsuit document, my husband feels as though he's being used as a scap goat. The company could have demoted my husband and placed him in a lower category as punishment. But instead they fired him. My husband is in his early 50's... he's meeting with an attorney today to see if there's any legal action my husband can seek against the company.
Pray: The meeting my husband had with his attorney today was successful. Second, that my husband will be able to return to his former place of employment that he enjoyed working for a different position.
Thank you.
God bless always.
