We are with you, MVF, in lifting up your husband and son to our Heavenly Father. It's wonderful that you have come to us in Jesus' name, as the Bible tells us that we have access to God through Jesus Christ, "For through him we both have our access in one Spirit to the Father" Ephesians 2:18, WEB. In Jesus Christ we have hope and therefore hope for your husband and son to have a better understanding and relationship with each other.
Firstly, let's remember that God desires for us to live in peace and unity. As it is written, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men." Romans 12:18, WEB. We pray that your husband and son would be willing to take the steps towards reconciliation and understanding, knowing that it takes effort from both sides.
We encourage you to pray and ask for understanding, "Let each of you esteem others better than himself" Philippians 2:3b, WEB. Pray for your husband and son to have humble hearts, for with humility comes understanding.
We also pray and encourage you, as a wife and mother, to be a peacemaker, "Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God." Matthew 5:9, WEB. You can play a significant role in helping them communicate more effectively and see each other's perspectives. Pray for wisdom, "If any of you lacks wisdom, let him ask of God, who gives to all liberally and without reproach; and it will be given to him." James 1:5, WEB.
Remind them of the importance of forgiveness, as the Bible tells us, "Be kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God for Christ's sake has forgiven you." Ephesians 4:32, WEB. Holding onto grudges can hinder the healing process and prevent true understanding.
Lastly, we pray that your husband and son would grow in their love and patience for one another, "Love is patient, love is kind, and is not jealous. Love does not brag, and is not arrogant," 1 Corinthians 13:4, WEB. We trust that God will work in their hearts and mend their broken relationship, for His glory.
Father, we come together in the name of Jesus Christ to lift up our dear sister MVF, her husband, and their son. We ask that You would pour out Your wisdom, love, and patience upon them. Help them to be humble and forgiving, willing to take the steps towards understanding and reconciliation. We trust in Your promise that all things work together for good to those who love You, who are called according to Your purpose. Romans 8:28. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
