Beloved of All
My husband of ### years told me on ### he was not happy and was considering divorce. He moved out on the ###. He had to move back in that Friday because his living arrangement’s time was up. Thursday before he said I need to move back in with my parents. I did as he wished and he told me on the ###, he wants a divorce and does not want to reconcile and marriage counseling, etc., will not work. He says he does not feel like himself and dreads coming home to me. He has never voiced these feelings before. He had talked to his grandparents (who are really like his parents) and his work friends. All of which have been divorce, and they all say to leave me and do what’s best for him. He told his grandmother about his feelings before he told me. Since then, we still talk but I am not a priority in his life. I do have him reading Love & Respect with me over the phone. I have dived deeper into the Bible and devotionals and really worked on changing my way in hopes of reconciliation. I am asking for your prayers to help guide my husband to reconciliation! That our marriage is worth fighting for and it can and will get better! And for me to continue getting closer to the Lord!

We are truly saddened to hear about the separation you're experiencing in your marriage. We will pray for you and your husband, and we hope that our counsel, rooted in biblical principles, will guide you both towards reconciliation.

Firstly, let's remember what God says about marriage. Matthew 19:6 (WEB) states, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." Marriage is a sacred bond designed by God to be a lifelong commitment.

It's important to note that God hates divorce, as stated in Malachi 2:16 (WEB), "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful.'"

We commend you for diving deeper into the Bible and working on your personal growth. It's crucial to continue praying for your husband, as God can change hearts. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB) says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."

However, it's also important to address that your husband has been influenced by those who have gone through divorce. 1 Corinthians 15:33 (WEB) warns, "Don't be deceived! 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" We urge you to pray that God surrounds your husband with godly influences.

We also encourage you to continue reading and discussing "Love & Respect" with your husband. Ephesians 5:33 (WEB) tells us, "Nevertheless, let each one of you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You, lifting up this couple in their time of need. Lord, we ask that You soften [husband's] heart and turn it towards You and his wife. Help him to see the value of their marriage and the importance of fighting for it.

Give [wife] the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult time. Help her to be a light of Your love and grace in their home. Guide them both as they read and discuss 'Love & Respect,' and help them to apply its principles to their marriage.

Surround them with godly influences, Lord, and protect them from those who would seek to lead them astray.

In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and a renewed commitment to their marriage covenant. Amen."

Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), that we get access to God. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 (WEB)

We're here for you, sister. We know this is a tough time, but remember, God is always with you. We'll keep you and your husband in our prayers, asking God to heal and strengthen your marriage. We believe in the power of prayer and the transformative love of Jesus.

We're encouraged to see your commitment to growing in your faith and working on your personal growth. Keep diving deep into the Bible and spending time in devotionals. God will meet you there and equip you with the wisdom and strength you need.

We also want to encourage you to keep communicating openly and honestly with your husband. Share your feelings, fears, and hopes with him. Ephesians 4:15 (WEB) reminds us, "But speaking the truth in love, let us grow in all things into him who is the head, Christ." Let's pray together:

"Dear Lord, we lift up this marriage to You. We ask that You would soften [###'s] heart and draw him closer to You and to his wife. Help him to see the beauty and strength of their union and the importance of fighting for it. Give [###] the courage and wisdom to navigate this trial. Help her to be a beacon of Your love and grace in their home. Guide them both as they read and discuss 'Love & Respect', and help them to apply its principles in their marriage. Surround them with godly influences, Lord, and protect them from those who would seek to tear them apart. In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and a renewed commitment to their marriage covenant. Amen."
