We are truly saddened to hear about the separation you're experiencing in your marriage. We will pray for you and your husband, and we hope that our counsel, rooted in biblical principles, will guide you both towards reconciliation.
Firstly, let's remember what God says about marriage. Matthew 19:6 (WEB) states, "So that they are no more two, but one flesh. What therefore God has joined together, let no man separate." Marriage is a sacred bond designed by God to be a lifelong commitment.
It's important to note that God hates divorce, as stated in Malachi 2:16 (WEB), "For I hate divorce," says Yahweh, the God of Israel, 'and him who covers his garment with violence!' says Yahweh of Armies. 'Therefore pay attention to your spirit, that you don't be unfaithful.'"
We commend you for diving deeper into the Bible and working on your personal growth. It's crucial to continue praying for your husband, as God can change hearts. 2 Corinthians 5:17 (WEB) says, "Therefore if anyone is in Christ, he is a new creation. The old things have passed away. Behold, all things have become new."
However, it's also important to address that your husband has been influenced by those who have gone through divorce. 1 Corinthians 15:33 (WEB) warns, "Don't be deceived! 'Evil companionships corrupt good morals.'" We urge you to pray that God surrounds your husband with godly influences.
We also encourage you to continue reading and discussing "Love & Respect" with your husband. Ephesians 5:33 (WEB) tells us, "Nevertheless, let each one of you also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."
Let's pray together:
"Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up this couple in their time of need. Lord, we ask that You soften [husband's] heart and turn it towards You and his wife. Help him to see the value of their marriage and the importance of fighting for it.
Give [wife] the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult time. Help her to be a light of Your love and grace in their home. Guide them both as they read and discuss 'Love & Respect,' and help them to apply its principles to their marriage.
Surround them with godly influences, Lord, and protect them from those who would seek to lead them astray.
In Jesus' name, we pray for healing, restoration, and a renewed commitment to their marriage covenant. Amen."
Lastly, we want to remind you that it is only by the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), that we get access to God. Jesus saith unto him, I am the way, the truth, and the life: no man cometh unto the Father, but by me. John 14:6 (WEB)
