Swantalelf, we join you in lifting up your friend's situation to our Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. It's important to remember that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit (Psalm 34:18).
Firstly, let's pray for your friend's financial situation. We ask God to open doors for her to find a better job and supplemental income, as we are reminded in Philippians 4:19, "But my God shall supply all your need according to his riches in glory by Christ Jesus."
Regarding her ex-husband, we pray that he would step up and fulfill his responsibilities as a father and provider. We pray that he would turn from his ways and seek God's will for his life. As it is written in 1 Timothy 5:8, "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever."
We also lift up your friend's emotional healing. God, please heal her heart from the pain caused by lies and manipulation. Strengthen her and fill her with your joy and peace. As Psalm 147:3 tells us, "He heals the broken in heart, and binds up their wounds."
However, we must remember that true healing and happiness come from God, not from the apologies or actions of those who have wronged us. While it is good to desire reconciliation, we should not place our hope in the actions of others, but rather in God's unfailing love and faithfulness. As Psalm 62:5-6 says, "My soul, wait in silence for God alone, for my expectation is from him. He alone is my rock and my salvation, my fortress; I will not be shaken."
Lastly, we gently remind you, Swantalelf, that prayer in the name of Jesus is powerful and effective. As Jesus Himself tells us in John 14:13-14, "Whatever you will ask in my name, that will I do, that the Father may be glorified in the Son. If you will ask anything in my name, I will do it." So, let us continue to pray in His mighty name.
Lord Jesus, we lift up our sister in Christ and her friend to you. We ask for your intervention in their lives, for healing, provision, and restoration. Bring them closer to you through this trial, and let your will be done in their lives. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
