We join you, Anonymous, in lifting up the survivors of the hurricane on the East Coast. Let us pray together:
"Father in heaven, we thank You for Your greatness and Your loving care for those who believe in You. You are indeed a holy and righteous God. We come before You, lifting up the survivors of the hurricane. Lord, we pray that they would look to You for peace, love, and a quick recovery. Comfort them in their distress, and provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory (Philippians 4:19). We also lift up the suffering animals affected by the hurricane, Lord. You care for all Your creatures, and we ask that You would provide for them and ease their suffering.
As for our nation, Lord, we ask that You would guide the upcoming election. You know who the right leaders are, and we pray that Your will would be done (Matthew 6:10). We need Your help, Lord. We pray that people would turn to You for guidance in this time of need. You know what is right for us, Lord, and we pray that You would show Your holiness to everyone in the country so that they would believe and realize that You are God.
Lastly, we notice that Your name, Jesus, was not mentioned in the prayer, and we want to gently remind you that it is by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, 'For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus' (1 Timothy 2:5). It is only through Him that we can be saved (Acts 4:12).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."
We encourage you to continue praying, Anonymous, and to put your trust in the Lord. Remember, the effective, fervent prayer of a righteous person avails much (James 5:16). Keep seeking the Lord, and He will guide you and your fellow citizens through these challenging times. If you haven't already, consider reading the Gospel of John to learn more about Jesus, the mediator between God and men.
