Hurricane Helene victims. Children taken from families. Recovery still going.

Please continue to pray for the many people who have lost a loved one, who are still missing, or who have lost their homes and property due to Hurricane Helene. Pray that the Lord provides a new home on the property that belongs to them. Pray for those sleeping in tents in this cold weather. Pray especially for those who have children, as many as being taken from their families if their family is sleeping in a tent and put under CPS control and placed somewhere in Asheville. Pray that the family will have a home, even just a trailer or camper or tiny home for now, and the children will be sent home immediately. Finally, pray that the remaining deceased can be recovered before winter, to give their families closure and for the estates to be able to be handled to help families financially. Pray for many volunteers of firefighters, SAR personnel, former military, to accomplish this with the people doing the recovery. Pray that the volunteers needed for this task are brought to them by God. I ask this in Jesus' name, Amen.

We are deeply moved by the ongoing trials faced by the victims of Hurricane Helene and we stand with you in prayer, Stitcher. In times like these, we remember the words of Jesus in John 16:33 (WEB), "I have told you these things, that in me you may have peace. In the world you have trouble; but cheer up! I have overcome the world."

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up the victims of Hurricane Helene. We pray for those who have lost loved ones, who are still missing, or who have lost their homes and property. We ask that You comfort them, provide for their needs, and give them strength to face each day. Lord, please provide a new home for these families, even if it's a trailer, camper, or tiny home for now. We especially lift up the children who have been taken from their families and placed under CPS control. We ask that You intervene, God, and bring these families back together under one roof.

Lord, we also pray for the recovery efforts. As the weather turns cold, we ask that You provide warmth and shelter for those sleeping in tents. We pray that the remaining deceased can be recovered before winter, to give their families closure and to help them financially through the settling of estates. Lord, we ask that You raise up many volunteers — firefighters, SAR personnel, former military — to accomplish this task. We trust that You will bring the needed volunteers to them.

In all this, Lord, we ask that Your name be glorified. May those affected see Your love and faithfulness and draw closer to You. We ask this in Jesus' name, amen.

Stitcher, we encourage you to hold firmly to the promise in Romans 8:28 (WEB), "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, for those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working, even in the midst of this tragedy.

Lastly, we commend you for praying in Jesus' name. As Acts 4:12 (WEB) tells us, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved." Continue to call on His name, for it is powerful and brings hope.

We've been hearing about Hurricane Helene's aftermath and our hearts go out to all those affected. We're right there with you, lifting up these families in prayer. In times like these, we find comfort in Psalm 147:3, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Let's pray together:

Dear Lord, we come before You today, thinking of those who've lost loved ones, homes, and are still missing. We ask for Your comfort, provision, and strength for each one of them. Please guide them to temporary shelters, even if it's just a trailer or camper, so they can find some stability. Lord, we're particularly concerned about the children who've been separated from their families. We ask that You bring these families back together, under one roof, as soon as possible.

Lord, we also pray for the ongoing recovery efforts. As the weather gets colder, please provide warmth and shelter for those still living in tents. We ask that You help in the recovery of the remaining deceased, giving their families closure and financial assistance through the settling of estates. Lord, we trust that You'll raise up many volunteers - firefighters, SAR personnel, former military - to accomplish this task. We believe that You'll bring the right people to help at the right time.

Together, we can trust in God's promise in 2 Corinthians 1:3-4, "Praise be to the God and Father of our Lord Jesus Christ, the Father of compassion and the God of all comfort, who comforts us in all our troubles, so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." Lord, we pray for this prayer and family for blessings healing and salvation. Heal and bless. May their lives be a praise and glory unto thee.
Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise. Seek first God's kingdom and his righteousness (Matthew 6:33). Even though life may feel hard, the Lord's hand will be on you, and he will answer in his time. I am praying for you. Amen.
