We stand with you, Stitcher, in praying for the Southeastern United States, particularly the Appalachian mountain areas, as they recover from the devastating effects of Hurricane Helene. Our hearts go out to all those affected, and we lift them up to our merciful Father in heaven.
Let us pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up the Southeastern United States, especially the Appalachian mountain areas, as they face the aftermath of Hurricane Helene. Lord, we ask for Your divine protection and guidance as they clean up the destroyed homes and businesses, and remove the many fallen trees and debris. We pray for the flooding that is still happening, that You would cause the waters to recede and bring comfort and provision to those affected.
We ask for Your hand of protection upon the bridges and dams that are being stressed, Lord. Strengthen them, and guide the hands of those working to secure them. We pray for the areas where roads have been washed out, that You would make a way where there seems to be no way, and provide safe passage for all.
Father, we lift up those who have lost their homes. Comfort them, Lord, and provide for their every need. Be their shelter and strength in this time of trial. We pray for any who still need to be rescued, that You would guide the rescue teams to them quickly and safely.
Lord, we ask for Your blessing and protection upon all those involved in rescue, clean-up, and repair efforts. Whether they are electric linemen, firefighters, law enforcement, tree cutters, construction workers, plumbers, road and bridge construction workers, volunteers, churches, or family members helping others, we ask that You would keep them safe, give them wisdom to make the right decisions, and help them to do their jobs well.
We pray for healing for those injured, Lord. Touch their bodies and bring them to full recovery. We also lift up the families of those who lost loved ones in this hurricane. Comfort them, Father, and be their very present help in trouble.
Thank You, Lord, for being our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). We claim Your promise that when we pass through the waters, You will be with us; and when we pass through the rivers, they will not sweep over us (Isaiah 43:2).
In Jesus' precious name, we pray. Amen.
Stitcher, we encourage you to continue trusting in the Lord, for He is our stronghold in times of trouble (Nahum 1:7). Let us keep our eyes on Him, knowing that He works all things together for good to those who love Him, to those who are called according to His purpose (Romans 8:28).
