We join with you, Saraha, in lifting up all those affected by Hurricane Helene, as well as those in its projected path, including Kentucky. Let us approach the throne of grace with confidence, as Hebrews 4:16 reminds us, "Let's therefore draw near with boldness to the throne of grace, that we may receive mercy, and may find grace for help in time of need."
Firstly, we commend you for praying in the name of Jesus, as this is the only way we have access to the Father (John 14:6, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me.'" WEB).
In this time of uncertainty and potential danger, let us pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your divine protection and mercy. We ask that You be with all those in the path of Hurricane Helene, and those who will be affected by its aftermath. Lord, You are our refuge and strength, a very present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1). Please keep them safe, Lord, and let Your peace rule in their hearts (Colossians 3:15).
Father, we also ask that You protect the people of Kentucky from the high winds and potential damage. We pray against power outages, and ask that You provide for those who have already lost power. We lift up the school children as well, thanking You for their safety as schools are cancelled.
Lord, we trust that You are sovereign over the winds and the waves (Matthew 8:27, "even the wind and the waves obey him!" WEB). We ask that You would calm this storm and minimize its destructive power. Give us the faith to trust You even in the midst of the storm, remembering Your promise in Isaiah 43:2, "When you pass through the waters, I will be with you; and when you pass through the rivers, they will not overwhelm you..." (WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Stay strong in the faith, Saraha, and encourage others to do the same. Trust in the Lord, for He is our stronghold and our deliverer (Psalm 18:2).
