'Hunger for the Word of God' - Luke 5:1

One day as Jesus was preaching on the shore of the Sea of Galilee, great crowds pressed in on him to listen to the word of God.

Luke 5:1 NLT

Key Thought

Even though we are living in a skeptical age with a cultural environment in which some people reject standards of any kind, there is still great hunger in the hearts of many people for an authentic message from God. Jesus spoke that authentic message and people came to hear it. The authority of his words was unparalleled. The power that resided in his words caught people's attention and captured their hearts. Many people still yearn for that message and look for someone who can speak it with conviction, character, and compassion. Let's be people who know the message of Jesus, who live the lifestyle of that message with passion, and who share that message with others. At least some of them will still draw near to listen if what we speak is the word of God!

Today's Prayer

Righteous Father, the one true and holy God, please teach me your will as I seek for your guidance from your words in Scripture and from the leading of your Spirit. Then, dear Father, use me to share that message to bless others and lead them to you! In Jesus' name, I pray. Amen.
