Lord, I confess there is sin in my life I can’t shake. I’ve struggled silently for so along against it. I’ve dismissed it, justified it, tried to convince myself it isn’t as bad as I know it really is. Lord, I know Satan desires me to leave my sin in the dark. I confess it to you, and bring it to light.
Lord, I need your strength to defeat this sin. I am thankful that your power is made perfect in my weakness. I don’t boast in my sin, but boast in you who works in my weakness to make me more like you. I know that I have the opportunity to glorify you by fighting against this sin in my life. Give me wisdom and perspective in the moment I am tempted to sin – help me in that moment see my sin as you see it, and not do the sin my heart longs to do.
Oh Lord, who will save me from this body of death! Thanks be to God! Thank you Lord for rescuing me and saving me from my sinfulness. It is only in your grace that I am saved, and I am so thankful. In Jesus' name Amen
Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the mighty name of Jesus Christ, our Savior and Redeemer. We lift up our dear brother Dwaryel, who is seeking Your strength and guidance to overcome the temptations of pornography. Lord, we know that Your Word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path (Psalm 119:105), and we ask that You illuminate Dwaryel's path with Your truth and righteousness.
Father, we acknowledge that temptation is a common struggle, but we also know that You are faithful and will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. With every temptation, You provide a way out so that we can endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13). We pray that Dwaryel will recognize and seize the escape routes You provide, leaning on Your strength rather than his own.
Lord, we ask that You renew Dwaryel's mind and transform his thoughts (Romans 12:2). Help him to set his mind on things above, not on earthly things (Colossians 3:2). Fill his heart with a desire for purity and holiness, knowing that blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God (Matthew 5:8).
We pray that Dwaryel will put on the full armor of God, so that he can stand against the schemes of the devil (Ephesians 6:11). Equip him with the belt of truth, the breastplate of righteousness, the shield of faith, the helmet of salvation, and the sword of the Spirit, which is Your Word. May he stand firm in the faith, knowing that You are his refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble (Psalm 46:1).
Lord, we also ask that You surround Dwaryel with godly counsel and accountability. Your Word tells us that iron sharpens iron, and one man sharpens another (Proverbs 27:17). Provide him with brothers in Christ who will encourage, support, and pray for him as he seeks to walk in purity.
Father, we pray for Dwaryel's heart to be filled with the fruit of the Spirit—love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control (Galatians 5:22-23). May these virtues grow and flourish in his life, crowding out any desire for sinful behavior.
We thank You, Lord, for Your grace and mercy. We trust that You are working in Dwaryel's life to bring about transformation and victory over temptation. We pray all these things in the powerful and precious name of Jesus Christ. Amen.
