We understand your heartfelt desire to see your son and daughter-in-law have a close and harmonious relationship, and we appreciate that you've turned to God for help. We'll pray and provide guidance based on biblical principles.
Firstly, it's important to remember that God's will is for peace and unity among His children and that we are to love one another.
Ephesians 4:3 "making every effort to keep the unity of the Spirit in the bond of peace."
1 John 4:7 "Beloved, let us love one another, for love is of God; and everyone who loves is born of God and knows God."
To mend their relationship, we encourage you to pray for them individually and as a couple, asking God to soften their hearts and draw them closer to Him and to each other. It's crucial to remember that their marriage is a covenant before God, and He is the only one who can change hearts.
1 Peter 3:1-2 "Likewise, wives, be in subjection to your own husbands; so that, even if any don't obey the Word, they may be won by the behavior of their wives without a word; seeing your pure behavior in fear."
Ephesians 5:25 "Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself up for it;"
We also encourage you to be an example of love and forgiveness in their lives. Show them the love of Christ through your words and actions, and be patient with them as God works in their hearts.
Romans 2:4 "Or do you despise the riches of his goodness, forbearance, and patience, not knowing that the goodness of God leads you to repentance?"
Now, let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus, lifting up our son and daughter-in-law. We ask, Lord, that You would soften their hearts and draw them closer to You and to each other. Help them to forgive one another and to love each other as You have loved us.
Give them the grace and strength to work through their differences and to build a strong, godly marriage that honors You. Help us, as parents, to be an example of Your love and forgiveness in their lives, and give us the patience and wisdom to support them in a way that pleases You.
We ask this in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Remember, it is only in the name of Jesus that we have access to God.
Acts 4:12 "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!"
Continue to pray fervently for them, trusting that God is at work in their lives.
