Now understand this. It works the same way affection for anything works. Whatever you want to have an affection for, you simply focus on. The more you focus on that thing, the more your feelings will grow. I can tell you that John the Baptist said, I must decrease to that He must increase. So if we want more of God, I will tell you. He has already given you, He has already filled you as much as He can. So for you to have more of Him, there has to be less of you. So if you want more of God, it's easy, just give him more of you. Don't try to get Him to put more in you than what you've given Him. He fills all of you that He can. So to have more of Him, He's got to have more of you. We are to set our affections on Him. The more time you spend with Him, the more time you focus on Him, the more you read His word, the greater the feelings for Him will develop. That's the way you were made and God made you that way, because He wants you to choose to spend time with Him. He wants you to choose to spend time in His word and it's worth it. You will begin to see changes in your life, and in the lives of people around you because you can't give God more than He will give you back, in everything, in every area of your life, The smart person finds out how to give Him everything.
