HOW ARE YOU LIVING?
You must be blameless before the LORD your God. Deuteronomy 18:13
How are you living at home and at work each day? Do you radiate the love of Jesus in your heart? Are you praying for your spouse’s return home every day? My question for you today is, “Are you really ready for your spouse’s return home?â€
We are praising the Lord as we have more standers starting to have more communication from their spouse. We have husbands or wives who have left home who are coming home and are in the process of marriage restoration. May I share a key to marriage restoration? You must be ready! Are you really ready to act and react as Jesus would?
We hear from standers whose spouse has started the testing the water stage where your spouse, who has been gone for a season or longer, has started calling or stopping by. You may have had a special event like a birthday party with your children and your spouse lowered the wall of silence to you and the family. Are you getting excited? Are you ready to become the wife or husband who has had all the responsibility at home alone to begin to start sharing the responsibilities?
Are your children ready to receive Mom or Dad back into the home? Have both you and your children forgiven your spouse? Do you or your children keep bringing up the past in a sharp critical tone? Have your children been a part of knowing you are praying for the return of your prodigal spouse and your children will not make their return difficult? Have you taught your children that this is a spiritual battle? When your spouse returns there is going to be an adjustment period when you both graciously work on sharing the discipline with your children to the point where the father may have the final word. Mom, have you been much more lenient in your discipline? Have you removed all the rules that you both had while he was home? Are you ready for your spouse’s return home?
We have had many women who have repented due to the lack of controlling their tongues and behavior with slamming doors or screaming at everyone with harsh tones. Have you surrendered your heart, tongue and attitude to the Lord asking Him to change all areas in your life? Is your spouse going to be pleased when he comes home and sees your own heart transformation?
Are you still keeping all the records of the wrongs that your husband or wife have been doing? Please push delete on your computer in your mind. Then go to the Trash bin and delete all your unforgiveness, hardness of heart, and judgmental spirit that you have not surrendered to the Lord. Then go to our Bookstore and order our CD or MP3 Download of Forgive Them. Today is the day to draw the line in the sand, to start getting ready from the inside out for your spouse’s return home, suddenly.
God does speak to His children. Are you ready for your spouse to come home? Please do not fall back into old habits that you have been stuffing down deep inside. Are you battling anger or jealousy in your spirit? Why not change? So when your spouse visits or when your spouse comes home they will see a new creature in Christ that truly walks, talks and reacts as their Lord Jesus and not your old sinful nature! Are you ready to love them with agape unconditional love?
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails. 1 Corinthians 13:4-8
Are you striving every day to live a blameless life before God? You and I must walk and live with integrity and honesty in whatever we do. May I challenge you to stop looking and judging your spouse, as we know their heart condition, but first examine your own heart. You must choose to conform your mind to God’s standards, to His ways to His thoughts.
Therefore, I urge you, brothers, in view of God's mercy, to offer your bodies as living sacrifices, holy and pleasing to God—this is your spiritual act of worship. Do not conform any longer to the pattern of this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind. Then you will be able to test and approve what God's will is— his good, pleasing and perfect will. Romans 12:1-2
We hear from standers who say they are having trouble with their tongue, actions or submitting to their spouse or loving their spouse as the Word of God tells us to do in Ephesians 5:21-33. I cannot urge you enough to surrender your entire life to your Lord Jesus Christ, cleansing your heart from all impurities and sin. Ask the Holy Spirit to purify your heart from all unrighteousness. The Holy Spirit can change your bad habits, demolish every stronghold in your life and you can be transformed by the renewing of your mind each and every day.
The weapons we fight with are not the weapons of the world. On the contrary, they have divine power to demolish strongholds. We demolish arguments and every pretension that sets itself up against the knowledge of God, and we take captive every thought to make it obedient to Christ. 2 Corinthians 10:4-5
The Lord teaches us that we must walk a holy and a blameless life. In the American College Dictionary, the word blameless means: free from blame, guiltless. Allow the Lord to touch your heart so that you can live a holy and blameless life! We have all made mistakes in our marriages. But today choose to live a Christ-like lifestyle at home and wherever you go. It is easy to blame others or find fault with someone else, but I challenge you today to choose to be different and live a blameless life before the Lord. You will be blessed if you do.
LORD, who may dwell in your sanctuary? Who may live on your holy hill? He whose walk is blameless and who does what is righteous, who speaks the truth from his heart and has no slander on his tongue, who does his neighbor no wrong and casts no slur on his fellowman. Psalm 15:1-3
No one is going to be perfect, but the Lord sees and knows your heart and your intentions. He hears you when you repent immediately when you make a mistake and learn from it. The only way that you can live a more blameless life is by seeking and knowing the Lord more each day. How do you do this? By reading and being obedient to the Word of God and living your life accordingly by a higher standard, God’s standard.
For the LORD gives wisdom, and from his mouth come knowledge and understanding. He holds victory in store for the upright, he is a shield to those whose walk is blameless, for he guards the course of the just and protects the way of his faithful ones. Then you will understand what is right and just and fair-every good path. For wisdom will enter your heart, and knowledge will be pleasant to your soul. Proverbs 2:6-10
The Lord will guide and encourage you daily. Ask Him to empower you to live a blameless and holy life. Seek the Lord daily for His wisdom, knowledge and understanding so that you will walk only on the straight, narrow pathway of righteousness. Your spouse may have taken a crooked path that is leading them in the opposite direction of a blameless and holy life. You need to pray daily for ALL prodigals, that the Lord will open their eyes, seeing and hearing God’s Truth which will set them free. They will turn from their wrong beliefs, lies and impure lifestyles, suddenly! Are you ready to love your spouse as Jesus loves you?
For the LORD God is a sun and shield; the LORD bestows favor and honor; no good thing does he withhold from those whose walk is blameless. O LORD Almighty, blessed is the man who trusts in you. Psalm 84:11-12
