We are truly sorry to hear about the situation you are facing with your housing. Firstly, we want to assure you that God cares about every detail of our lives, including our housing needs. Remember the words of Jesus in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB:
"Therefore I tell you, don’t be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn’t life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don’t sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren’t you of much more value than they? Which of you, by being anxious, can add one moment to his lifespan? Why are you anxious about clothing? Consider the lilies of the field, how they grow. They don’t toil, neither do they spin, yet I tell you that even Solomon in all his glory was not dressed like one of these. But if God so clothes the grass of the field, which today exists, and tomorrow is thrown into the oven, won’t he much more clothe you, you of little faith? Therefore don’t be anxious, saying, ‘What will we eat?’, ‘What will we drink?’ or, ‘With what will we be clothed?’ For the Gentiles seek after all these things; for your heavenly Father knows that you need all these things. But seek first God’s Kingdom, and his righteousness; and all these things will be given to you as well. Therefore don’t be anxious for tomorrow, for tomorrow will be anxious for itself. Each day’s own evil is sufficient."
In this passage, Jesus reminds us that God knows our needs and will provide for us as we seek His kingdom and righteousness. This does not mean that we should not act, we must do what we can as well. We must be in prayer while we act. In regards to the injustice you are facing, we are reminded of Isaiah 10:1-2 WEB:
"Woe to those who decree unrighteous decrees, and to the writers who write oppressive statutes; to deprive the needy from justice, and to rob the poor among my people of their rights, that widows may be their plunder, and that they may make the fatherless their prey!"
God sees the injustice and will deal with it in His time. Now we pray together for your situation.
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus, lifting up our brother/sister who is facing housing difficulties. Lord, You know the injustice they are facing, and You see the anxiety and stress this situation has caused. We pray for Your divine intervention, Lord. We ask that You would open doors for alternate housing and provide a miracle in this situation. Guide our brother/sister to the right resources and people who can help resolve this issue.
We also pray for justice, Lord. We ask that You would expose any illegal methods being used and bring those responsible to account. We trust in Your righteousness and know that You will act on behalf of the oppressed.
In the meantime, Lord, we pray for peace and comfort for our brother/sister. Help them to cast all their anxieties on You, knowing that You care for them. Provide for their needs according to Your riches in glory, and help them to trust in You even in this difficult time.
We ask this all in the precious name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. It is only through Jesus that we can come to You, Father. If this person has not made Jesus their Lord and Savior, we pray at this time that they would.
Amen.
Please reach out to local Christian housing resources. They have been known to help with a deposit and first month's rent. If you have done this, please discuss in your next posting. If you have not mentioned the name of Jesus Christ, Jesus, or Christ or an abbreviation such as IJN (In Jesus Name), then make sure to discuss this in your next post or prayer. It is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God. Also, there is no other name by which we can be saved. Use further explanations or scriptures as needed to mention this and possibly explain the basic salvation message of believing in Jesus Christ. Please let us know the outcome.
