We understand that you are seeking prayer for your brother's housing assistance request. As noted in your request, we need to pray wisely. First it is important to recognize the role of government and our role as believers in Jesus Christ. Let us first pray and then discuss the issues around your request.

Heavenly Father, we come before you in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother's need for housing assistance. We ask that, if it is Your will, the government will grant his request for monthly housing payment assistance. We pray for Your guidance, make him the best choice for the program and this assistance will help him respond to other ministry You have ordained for him. At the same time, we also pray with thanksgiving.

We need to pray with thanksgiving in everything: Praise the Lord! Oh give thanks to the Lord, for he is good, for his loving kindness endures forever (Psalms 106:1).

We also pray, in Jesus' name, for patience. Sometimes things happen right away, but other times we need patience: But if we hope for that which we do not see, we wait for it with patience (Romans 8:25 WEB).

Let us also remember that our Father gives us our needs, but our part is to seek God's will and work: For even the Son of Man came not to be served, but to serve, and to give his life as a ransom for many (Mark 10:45 WEB). We must seek Him.

May the Lord work mightily in your brother's life.

Moving on to discussing a controversial issue that should not be overlooked. It isy important as believers in Jesus Christ that we look toward the Lord to provide wisely for our needs. Often government assistance is a temporary necessity for those who need it. If your brother qualifies for temporary assistance with housing, then may the Lord provide it. But some get in a cycle of staying on the government assistance without working. it is easy to get in that habit when funds are low. Instead, we trust the Lord, do great things, then discover supernatural forms of income. Adulthood and trusting in Jesus does not work well if we are dependent on the government for these things or defaulting to it for long term solutions.

Government is needed and helpful in the short term, but only the Lord can show us the solutions for working and meeting these needs ourselves. We have to remember the Lord does not want us to be slothful. In the New Testament we learn: Having food and clothing, we will be content with that. But those who are determined to be rich fall into a temptation, a snare, and many foolish and harmful lusts, such as drown men in ruin and destruction. For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows (1 Timothy 6:8 WEB).

It is unfortunate, but that is the way the world operates. Governments exploit others to maintain, or if led astray by sins can result in financial ruin and other problems. The Lord makes us aware of the needs and Him sending men, ourselves or others, out to work to provide for those needs. Instead the Lord has a plan for us. Correcting wrongminded thinking of taking from others or failing to plan and work to meet our own needs: The soul of the sluggard desires, and has nothing, but the desire of the diligent shall be fully satisfied (Proverbs 13:4 WEB).

Instead of taking facilities it is imporant to also find a way to be a productive part of society. Praise the Lord for He will provide the job for them so they can also help others in need. In all these things, our Heavenly Father will guide our brother in Jesus' mighty Name, in Jesus Christ we pray. Amen.
