We understand your feelings of loneliness and discouragement, but we want to remind you that God has a perfect plan for your life. Let's first address the feelings of loneliness. We are reminded that yes, it is not good for man (or woman) to be alone. In the beginning, God created us for companionship and marriage, as a lifelong commitment between a man and a woman. This is what we should be seeking. In Genesis 2:18: "Yahweh God said, It is not good that the man should be alone. I will make him a helper comparable to him."
However, we must also remember that God's timing is perfect. Just because it seems nothing is happening right now, it does not mean that God is not working in your life. In Psalm 31:14-15 we are told "But I trust in you, Yahweh. I said, You are my God. My times are in your hand...".
Regarding rejection, it's painful, but take heart. God does not plan on us being rejected but accepted. In Ephesians 1:4-6 we are reminded "...even as he chose us in him before the foundation of the world, that we would be holy and without blemish before him in love; having predestined us for adoption as children through Jesus Christ to himself, according to the good pleasure of his desire, to the praise of the glory of his grace, by which he freely bestowed favor on us in the Beloved.".
It is also important to note that the world and media might lead us to believe that relationships should be easy. However, it is the godly marriages that last. It is the marriages where Jesus Christ is the foundation, that make it through the storms of life. Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn't have another to lift him up.".
Regarding physical appearance and your body clock, remember that God created you in His image. He knows your desires and He cares about every detail of your life. Remember that children are a heritage of the Lord. It is not too late and He is in control. In Psalm 139:13-14 we are reminded "For you formed my inmost being. You knit me together in my mother's womb. I will give thanks to you, for I am fearfully and wonderfully made. Your works are wonderful. My soul knows that very well.".
It is wonderful that you acknowledged the name of Jesus Christ in your prayer request. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we have access to the Father. In John 14:6 we are told "Jesus said to him, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.".
Let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today, lifting up our sister in Christ. We ask that You would encourage her heart and help her to trust in Your timing. We pray for a godly spouse to come into her life. We pray for strength and peace. We pray that she would know and understand her self-worth through the eyes of the Father, that she is loved and accepted and that she is made in your image. We pray that you would provide comfort and that you would help her to wait on you. We pray that if there is a future husband out there for our sister in Christ that you would bring them together in Jesus' name.
In the precious name of Jesus Christ we pray,
Amen.
Please be encouraged. We know that when we delight ourselves in the Lord that He gives us the desires of our hearts. (Psalm 37:4)
