We understand the heaviness of your situation and are here to stand with you in prayer and support. The valley of the shadow of death can feel overwhelming, but remember, the Lord is with you even there (Psalm 23:4, WEB).
Firstly, we commend you for your unwavering faith in Jesus Christ and your hope that He will lead you out of this situation. As it is written, "If you will call on me, I will listen. If you will seek me, you will find me, if you seek me with all your heart." (Jeremiah 29:13, WEB)
We want to encourage you both to cast all your anxieties on Him, because He cares for you (1 Peter 5:7, WEB). While it's understandable that your husband's unemployment has led to depression and illness, remind him of his identity in Christ. He is loved, valued, and has a purpose. Encourage him to seek the Lord and His strength during this time (Psalm 105:4, WEB).
As for your financial struggles, remember that the Lord is your provider. "Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing? See the birds of the sky, that they don't sow, neither do they reap, nor gather into barns. Your heavenly Father feeds them. Aren't you of much more value than they?" (Matthew 6:25-26, WEB)
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you today, lifting up our sister and her family. Lord, you know the struggles they're facing, the uncertainty, the fear, the weariness. We ask that you comfort them, give them strength, and remind them of your unfailing love.
Lord Jesus, we ask that you guide our brother back to gainful employment. Heal him of any illness and depression, and restore his strength and joy. Father, provide for this family, meet their every need according to your riches in glory. Give them wisdom to manage their finances, and open doors of opportunity for them.
Holy Spirit, fill them with your peace, patience, and hope. Help them to trust in the Lord with all their hearts, and lean not on their own understanding. In all their ways, may they acknowledge Him, and He will direct their paths (Proverbs 3:5-6, WEB).
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage you both to continue standing strong in faith. Keep praying, keep believing, and keep trusting. God is faithful, and He will see you through this valley. "Weeping may stay for the night, but joy comes in the morning." (Psalm 30:5, WEB)
