Hope is the life in our veins, the breath in our lungs and the courage for tomorrow.
Our hope is not in our circumstances.
Our hope is not in what we see or even feel.
Our hope is in Jesus, who is doing a deep eternal work in us. Far beyond what eyes can grasp, deep underground roots are growing. When all looks dead and frozen, sap is still running beneath gray bark, bringing us the promise of new growth. There is life. And we must trust when all feels bare.
Our offering of trust is an offering that is precious in the sight of God.
Therefore, since we have been justified through faith, we have peace with God through our Lord Jesus Christ, through whom we have gained access by faith into this grace in which we now stand. And we boast in the hope of the glory of God. Not only so, but we also glory in our sufferings, because we know that suffering produces perseverance; perseverance, character; and character, hope. And hope does not put us to shame, because God's love has been poured out into our hearts through the Holy Spirit, who has been given to us (Romans 5:1-5).
Hope does not put us to shame.
Hope is the life in our veins,
the breath in our lungs and
the courage for tomorrow.
Hope is knowing God is here.
