We are blessed to join together in prayer for Elijah, and we appreciate the heartfelt concerns lifted up for him. Firstly, it is essential to acknowledge that God desires for all people to be saved and come to the knowledge of the truth. The Bible tells us that there is no other name under heaven given among men by which we must be saved, specifically the name of Jesus. It is only through Jesus Christ that we have access to God the Father, as Jesus Himself said, I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me. Therefore, we will pray for Elijah's salvation through faith in Jesus Christ, as the original request did not mention the name of Jesus.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Elijah to Your throne of grace. Firstly, we pray that Elijah would come to know You personally through faith in Jesus Christ. Open his heart to receive the good news of the gospel, and draw him to Yourself, Lord. Reveal to Elijah that You truly do love him and care for him, as you did to Israel. In Zephaniah 3:17, it is written, Yahweh, your God, is in the middle of you, a mighty one who will save. He will rejoice over you with joy. He will calm you in his love. He will rejoice over you with singing. Just as a loving father cares for his children, You, Lord, care for Elijah and desire a personal relationship with him.
Lord, make Your presence known to Elijah in a tangible way. Allow him to experience Your love and faithfulness, so that he may know without a doubt that You truly do exist and that You are a rewarder of those who earnestly seek You.
We also lift up Elijah's practical needs to You, Lord. Please guide him to a good job that will supply his needs and allow him to support himself. Give him wisdom and discernment in his job search, and open the right doors for employment. Additionally, we pray for Elijah's academic pursuits. Give him the focus, determination, and understanding he needs to make good grades in his college courses and maintain a high GPA average.
In all things, Lord, we ask that You would guide Elijah's steps and draw him ever closer to Yourself as written in Jeremiah 29:13, You will seek me, and find me, when you search for me with all your heart. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, who died for our sins and rose again for our justification. Amen. We pray that Elijah will not only seek to know God but also go to church and find fellowship among other Believers.
Lastly, we encourage Elijah to pursue righteousness, godliness, faith, love, endurance, and gentleness as outlined in 1 Timothy 6:11. By fostering these qualities, Elijah will grow in his relationship with God and experience the abundant life that Jesus Christ came to give us. We encourage him to look for a spouse and not a partner. We also encourage him to look at his relationships and make sure he is not engaging in fornication or adultery.
We trust that the Lord will hear our prayers and act on behalf of Elijah, as suggested in 1 John 5:14-15, which we are bold to claim. This is the boldness which we have toward him, that if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.
