His Best, Our Best!
John 1:14
“And the Word was made flesh, and dwelt among us, (and we beheld his glory, the glory as of the only begotten of the Father,) full of grace and truth.”King James Version (KJV)
Colossians 2:9-10
9. For in Christ all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form,10. and in Christ you have been brought to fullness. He is the head over every power and authority.
New International Version(NIV)
COMMENT
The first verse is declarative in nature. It is simply stated as a matter-of-fact.
[God's] Word was made flesh subjecting Himself to all of humanity's imperfections and misery. And He did not just make occasional visitations like a special guest appearance on a show but lived His a full life from birth to death and of course resurrection. God can empathize with our joy and misery we go through here on earth.
God came in the flesh to personally show us how living in a fallen world is done, and with victory no less. He instructed humanity by becoming our example.
The second verse affirms Jesus' Godhead. The fullness (completeness) of God as come in a bodily form in Christ Jesus. The verse continues by adding that 'head over every power and authority.' The ultimate Master.
TAKE AWAY
We are the apprentices of 'The Master.' We have been given the best from God, shouldn't we give our best as the servants of Christ, doing the will of God from the heart?
This new year place our best heart forward!
