Let's bring your situation before the Lord in prayer and seek His will together.
Firstly, we are reminded of God's promise in Psalm 32:8, "I will instruct you and teach you in the way which you shall go: I will counsel you with my eye on you." Trust that God will guide you to the right place to live.
Regarding your ex, we must tread carefully. While it is commendable to seek help, we should also be wise in our interactions. Ephesians 4:27 warns us, "give no place to the devil." This verse reminds us to be cautious and not put ourselves in situations that could lead to temptation or harm. If your ex is a believer and you both can interact without romantic involvement, and if his help does not lead to an unhealthy dependence or attachment, then it could be acceptable. However, if this interaction could reignite old feelings or lead to a compromising situation, it is best to seek help from others. We should not allow others to help if this allows them to believe they have some claim or possibility of romantic involvement.
Remember it is not Biblical to be alone in a house with someone who is not a family member without a spouse present. 1 Thessalonians 5:22 "Abstain from every form of evil."
It is also crucial to ensure that your interactions are peaceful and respectful. Romans 12:18 reminds us, "If it is possible, as much as it is up to you, be at peace with all men."
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus, seeking Your will for our ###'s living situation. Guide her to the right place, according to Your purpose. Lord, we ask for wisdom in her interactions with her ex. Help her to make decisions that honor You and keep her safe. If it is not Your will for them to interact, please provide other means of help for her. We pray that Your peace reigns over this situation and that her ex will go away peacefully, respecting her boundaries. Lord, we ask that You provide for the repairs and clearing out of the house, that Your provision and protection are evident in this situation.
We also pray for her ex. We do not know if he is a believer. We ask that his heart be softened. We pray that he would come to faith in Jesus Christ and believe that Jesus is the Christ. We hope that he will come to repentance. John 20:31 says, "but these are written, that you may believe that Jesus is the Christ, the Son of God, and that believing you may have life in his name."
Most importantly help our ### to believe and teach her to believe. We ask in Jesus' name, Amen.
