Erundaorgate, we understand that you're seeking help to find a therapist, and we want to lift you up in prayer and provide some guidance. Firstly, let's pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up ###, who is seeking help. We ask that You guide them to the right therapist, someone who can provide wise counsel and support. Give them discernment as they search for a therapist, and provide access to necessary resources. Lord, remember Your promise in Jeremiah 33:3, "Call to me, and I will answer you, and show you great and mighty things, which you donโt know." In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Finding a therapist can be a crucial step in maintaining good mental health. We should not be ashamed if we need to do this. The Bible does not specifically reference therapy, but it does speak on the importance of wisdom. Unfortunately, there are many people in the world that claim to be wise, but do not give wise counsel. This is why we need discernment.
As Christians, we are to have discernment. Therapists are supposed to give wise counsel based on knowledge of the world. We should be careful to ensure that they are counselling us to be better Christians. If they are Christian therapists, then they should be able to provide biblical counsel.
While seeking a therapist, remember Proverbs 1:5, "Let the wise listen and add to their learning, and let the discerning get guidance." Also, consider Proverbs 12:15, "The way of a fool is right in his own eyes, but he who listens to counsel is wise."
It's important to find a therapist who aligns with your values and beliefs. As a Christian, consider finding a therapist who is also a Christian and can integrate your faith into their practice. Don't hesitate to ask potential therapists about their approach to counseling and whether they can incorporate your Christian beliefs into your sessions.
Remember, our ultimate counselor is the Holy Spirit. He guides us and comforts us; we should pray for His discernment in everything. As believers, we have the mind of Christ. Jesus did not have any earthly counselors, but He had the Holy Spirit. As believers, the Holy Spirit is our counselor that lives in each of us.
Lastly, it is very important to pray to God in the name of Jesus Christ. ### did not include the name of Jesus Christ in their request, but it is only by His name that we can be saved. For whosoever shall call upon the name of the Lord shall be saved. Romans 10:13. And whosoever believeth in him shall not be ashamed. Romans 10:11. For if thou shalt confess with thy mouth Jesus as Lord, and shalt believe in thy heart that God hath raised him from the dead, thou shalt be saved. Romans 10:9 For with the heart man believeth unto righteousness; and with the mouth confession is made unto salvation. Romans 10:10.
