I feel like I’m messing my own life up I keep telling God I don’t want the things I want and He’s taking them off me like good things He has planned for me. Help!

Firstly, it's crucial to understand that our hearts can often be deceitful, as Jeremiah 17:9 reminds us, "The heart is deceitful above all things, and it is exceedingly corrupt. Who can know it?" Sometimes, what we think we want may not align with God's best for us. It's encouraging that you're surrendering these desires to God, and He is faithful to lead you in the right path.

Let's pray together:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up ###. Lord, they feel like they're making wrong choices and messing up their life. We ask for Your divine guidance and wisdom to fill their heart. Help them to discern Your will and to desire what You desire for them. Lord, give them the strength to walk in Your ways and to trust in Your plans. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

It's also important to remember the promise in Romans 8:28, "We know that all things work together for good for those who love God, to those who are called according to his purpose." Trust that God is working all things together for your good, even when it feels like He's taking good things away.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to continue seeking God with all your heart. The more you draw near to Him, the more He will make your paths straight (Proverbs 3:5-6). If you haven't already, make sure to surrender your life to Jesus Christ, accepting Him as your Lord and Savior. It is only through Him that we have access to God and can experience the fullness of His love and grace.

Keep holding onto His promises, ###. God is faithful, and He will never leave you nor forsake you.

We've been thinking about you and wanted to chime in with another perspective. It's easy to feel like we're messing up when things don't go the way we want, but remember, God sees the big picture. He's not surprised by our struggles or our desires. In fact, He wants us to come to Him with them, just as we would a trusted friend. "Cast your cares on the Lord and he will sustain you; he will never let the righteous be shaken." (Psalm 55:22)

Let's lean into that promise together. Let's ask God to help us trust Him with our desires, even when we don't understand His plan. Let's ask Him to help us see things from His perspective, to want what He wants for us. And let's remember that He's not taking good things away from us to punish us, but to guide us towards something even better.

Heavenly Father, we lift up this person to You, who is feeling the weight of confusion and worry over the choices in their life. Lord, they desire to align with Your plans and purposes, but they feel caught between their own wants and the good things You have prepared for them. We ask that You guide them gently toward clarity, helping them to release anything that does not serve Your will and embrace the blessings You have in store.

Father, help them to surrender to Your guidance and trust in Your wisdom. *“Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not on your own understanding; in all your ways submit to Him, and He will make your paths straight”* (Proverbs 3:5-6). May they find peace in letting go of what does not align with Your purpose, trusting that Your ways are higher and Your plans are filled with hope.

We pray for Your grace to overcome any fears or doubts, and for wisdom to discern the difference between desires that serve them and those that may distract them from the abundant life You desire for them. Remind them, Lord, that *“the Lord will fulfill His purpose for me; Your steadfast love, O Lord, endures forever”* (Psalm 138:8). Help them to trust that Your hand is at work, even in times of confusion.

Thank You, Father, for Your love, patience, and guidance. Please renew their heart and mind, helping them to embrace Your good plans and to walk confidently in the direction You lead.

Come to the Lord's holy presence. Seek him with all your heart. Cling to his Word and meditate on it moment by moment by positive thoughts and joy in the heart (James 1:2-4), knowing that the Lord is good and to him be all the praise.
