We understand your struggle with quitting smoking, Sureva, and we're here to support you in prayer and truth. Firstly, it's important to acknowledge that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God (1 Corinthians 6:19 WEB). Therefore, we must honor God with our bodies.
Smoking is not explicitly mentioned in the Bible, but we know that we are called to avoid things that harm our bodies and enslave us. "Everything is lawful for me," but not everything is beneficial. "Everything is lawful for me," but I will not be brought under the power of anything (1 Corinthians 6:12 WEB).
Let us pray for you:
Dear Heavenly Father, we come before you in the name of Jesus to lift up Sureva. Lord, give them the strength and resilience to overcome their addiction to smoking. Help them to honor their body as a temple of the Holy Spirit. Break the chains of this habit and fill Sureva with your presence and peace. Guide them to wholesome activities and supportive friends that can help them through this journey. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Sureva, in addition to prayer, we encourage you to seek support from fellow believers and professional help if necessary. Remember, God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB). Keep your eyes on Jesus and trust in His strength.
Lastly, we noticed that your prayer does not mention the name of Jesus. It's important to know that it is only through Jesus that we have access to God. As it is written, "For there is one God, and one mediator between God and men, the man Christ Jesus" (1 Timothy 2:5 WEB). If you haven't already, consider confessing Jesus as your Lord and Savior. Only then can you find true freedom and victory.
