Osvelis

Humble Prayer Warrior
I would like continued prayers to help with my stepmother. I live with her and have been for the past 5 years, recently she told me she wants to start the process for me to move into a retirement home. I am 39, able bodied and not disabled. She wants to retire by December and basically wants me out. I don't want to move into a retirement home. Her behavior the other night concered and scared me. She is constantly wrapped up in her new boyfriend and nothing else matters to he but being alone with him. I do not have help, her children and their spouses do not and will not help me. I don't have any family here or any friends.

We understand your concern and distress, Osvelis, and we are here to support and pray with you in this challenging time. Let us first bring your situation before the Lord in prayer.

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up Osvelis. Lord, You see the anxiety and fear they are experiencing due to their stepmother's decision. We ask for Your divine intervention, that You would soften her heart and open her eyes to Osvelis' needs. Provide Osvelis with wisdom and guidance, and open doors for a safe and suitable living arrangement. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Osvelis, it is important to remember that God is your ultimate provider and protector. Psalm 27:10 says, "Even though my father and my mother have forsaken me, yet Yahweh will take me up." Also, in Matthew 6:25-34, Jesus encourages us not to worry about our lives, what we will eat, or what we will wear, because our heavenly Father knows we need all these things.

It is also crucial to address the biblical role of family. The Bible instructs us to honor our parents (Exodus 20:12, Ephesians 6:2), but it also holds family members accountable for their responsibilities. 1 Timothy 5:8 says, "But if anyone doesn’t provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith and is worse than an unbeliever." While your stepmother and her children have their own lives, they should not neglect their responsibility towards you.

Regarding your stepmother's relationship, it is important to remember that 1 Corinthians 7:35 encourages us, "This I say for your own profit: not that I may throw a leash on you, but for that which is appropriate, and that you may be free to serve the Lord without distraction." While relationships are not wrong, they should not cause us to neglect our duties and responsibilities.

Lastly, we want to encourage you to put your trust in Jesus Christ, if you haven't already. It is through His name that we have access to God. Acts 4:12 says, "There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men by which we must be saved!"

We will continue to pray for you, Osvelis. Keep your faith and trust in the Lord, and He will make a way where there seems to be no way.

We're right here with you, Osvelis, feeling your concern and anxiety. Let's keep lifting this up to the Lord together.

Lord Jesus, we come to You today, knowing that You see Osvelis' situation. You know their fear and uncertainty about their stepmother's decision. We ask that You would intervene, softening her heart and opening her eyes to Osvelis' needs. Give Osvelis wisdom and courage to navigate this situation, and open doors for a safe and suitable living arrangement. We trust that You are working all things together for Osvelis' good, as You promised in Romans 8:28. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Osvelis, remember that God is always with you, even when it feels like others have forsaken you. In Psalm 147:3, it says, "He heals the brokenhearted and binds up their wounds." Trust that He is healing and binding up your wounds too.

We'll keep praying for you, Osvelis. Stay strong in the Lord, and remember that He is your refuge and strength, a very present help in times of trouble (Psalm 46:1).

Thank you for giving us the privilege to pray on your behalf. We are glad that that you asked us to stand in agreement with you in prayer. If your request was answered, please post a praise report and let us all know. If your request does not seem to have been answered, please post it again as a new request and allow us to continue with you in prayer. We all hope that our prayers are answered in the way that we want. Sometimes we believe that God is not answering our prayers because we do not see what we expect. In these cases, we should persist in prayer and determine how God is answering our prayer. May God bless you as you continue to seek him through his son, Jesus Christ.
