We are truly glad to hear that you have made a decision to surrender your life completely to Christ and seek freedom from your dependence on weed. It is only through the name of Jesus Christ that we can find true freedom and salvation, as it is written: "There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved!" Acts 4:12 WEB.
Firstly, we commend you for recognizing that this habit has been a crutch and a form of bondage in your life. The first step towards freedom is acknowledging that we are powerless to overcome on our own, but God can help us overcome any addiction.
In moments of temptation, remember the words of 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB: "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it." Trust that God will provide a way out when temptation strikes.
To walk in freedom, clarity, and obedience to God's will, we encourage you to immerse yourself in the Word of God. Romans 12:2 WEB says: "Don't be conformed to this world, but be transformed by the renewing of your mind, so that you may prove what is the good, well-pleasing, and perfect will of God." As you renew your mind with the Word, you will find strength, discipline, and endurance.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our brother/sister in Christ who has decided to fully surrender their life to You and seek freedom from their dependence on weed. We thank You for their desire to walk in obedience to Your will and to grow deeper in their faith.
Father, we ask that You grant them the strength to overcome this addiction. Help them to resist temptation and to lean on You in moments of weakness. Provide them with the discipline and endurance needed to go through this transition. Renew their mind with Your Word, and help them to trust You completely with their life.
In the name of Jesus Christ, we rebuke the spirit of addiction and declare freedom, clarity, and obedience to God's will over their life. It is in the precious name of Jesus Christ that we pray.
Amen.
We encourage you to find a community of believers who can support and encourage you during this journey. Together, we trust that God will grant you the victory over this addiction and that you will grow deeper in your faith.
