Let us begin by thanking Jesus Christ for this new addition to the household and for the love that binds the family together. It is wonderful that this family is seeking God's guidance in their daily life, even in the care of their puppy, but we need to remember to expressly include Jesus Christ in our prayers as he is our advocate with God the Father and our Lord and Savior.
Firstly, we should recognize God's sovereignty over all creation, including the animals we care for. As it is written in Proverbs 12:10 WEB, "A righteous man respects the life of his animal, but the tender mercies of the wicked are cruel." This verse reminds us that caring for our pets is a reflection of our righteousness and kindness.
Regarding the potty training of the puppy, we can find encouragement in the principles of patience and consistency found in Galatians 6:9 WEB, "Let us not be weary in doing good, for we will reap in due season, if we don't give up." While this verse is referring to doing good to all people, the principle of not growing weary in doing good can also apply to the consistent training and care of the puppy.
Concerning the growth in love for each other and the puppy, we can reference 1 Corinthians 13:4-7 WEB, "Love is patient and is kind; love doesn't envy. Love doesn't brag, is not proud, doesn't behave itself inappropriately, doesn't seek its own way, is not provoked, takes no account of evil; doesn't rejoice in unrighteousness, but rejoices with the truth; bears all things, believes all things, hopes all things, endures all things." This passage reminds us that love is not just a feeling, but a commitment to act in a certain way towards others, including our pets.
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You in the name of Jesus Christ, thanking You for the blessings of family and pets. We ask for Your guidance and wisdom in caring for this puppy. Help the family to be patient and consistent in training, and to show love and kindness to this new addition. We pray that the love they have for each other would grow and strengthen, and that this puppy would bring joy and companionship to their home. We also pray that You would bring this family closer to You and help them to grow in their faith in Jesus Christ. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Lastly, we encourage the family to continue seeking God's will in all areas of their life, including the care of their pets. And remember that we only have access to Jesus Christ through the name of Jesus Christ. As the Bible clearly states the only way to the Father God is through the son Jesus Christ. And that nobody comes to the Father but by Jesus Christ.
