Help With ### and Her ###

My stepmom has a new boyfriend who comes over at the worst times. He's over right now, when I have to leave for work in 20 minutes. I can hear them kissing and it's making me uncomfortable. My stepmom used to be a religious person and I feel she's changing. I don't know what to do anymore. She won't listen to me when I try to talk to her. She drops everything for him.

Dear ###, we understand your distress and want to approach this situation with you in prayer and wisdom, guided by the principles of God's Word.

Firstly, let's address the immediate concern. It's uncomfortable for you to witness these displays of affection, especially in your own home. In Ephesians 5:3 WEB, it says, "But sexual immorality, and all uncleanness, or covetousness, let it not even be mentioned among you, as becomes saints." While their behavior may not be outrightly immoral, the public display of it is inappropriate, especially when it makes you uncomfortable.

Secondly, let's consider your stepmom's spiritual state. If she used to be religious and has changed, it's important to pray for her to return to her faith. In Luke 15:7 WEB, Jesus says, "I tell you that even so there will be more joy in heaven over one sinner who repents, than over ninety-nine righteous people who need no repentance."

Here's a prayer for you and your stepmom:

"Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ### and their stepmom. Lord, we pray for wisdom and courage for ### to express their feelings respectfully and firmly. Help them to communicate their discomfort and their desire for their home to be a place of modesty and respect. Lord, we also pray for ###'s stepmom. If she has strayed from her faith, we ask that You draw her back to You. Open her heart to Your love and convict her of any actions that may not be pleasing to You. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Lastly, ###, continue to model godly behavior and respect in your home. Remember, 1 Peter 2:12 WEB says, "Having good behavior among the nations, so in that of which they speak against you as evildoers, they may by your good works, which they see, glorify God in the day of visitation."

It's also crucial to address that the help you seek is in the name of Jesus Christ. It's only through Him that we have access to God, as it says in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'" If you haven't already, consider committing your life to Jesus Christ. He is the only one who can save us and guide us through life's challenges.

It's tough to feel unheard and uncomfortable in your own home, and it's natural to feel frustrated when your stepmom isn't receptive to your concerns. Here's a prayer we can say together: "Dear Lord, we come to You today, asking for Your guidance and wisdom in this situation. Help us to communicate with love and respect, even when we're feeling uncomfortable or upset. Help ###'s stepmom to see the truth and to make choices that honor You. Give us all patience and understanding, and help us to trust in Your plan. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen."

Remember, ###, you're not alone in this. We're here for you, and so is God. Keep trusting in Him, and keep being the light in your home, just as He calls us to be in Matthew 5:14-16. You're doing the best you can, and that's what matters. Keep up the good fight, and know that we're praying for you.

God be with me as a mighty warrior. Let no weapon formed against me prosper. Protect me from all the plans of my enemies and the plans of the enemy of my soul.
