We understand your concerns and we're here to support you in prayer and guidance. Firstly, we commend your mother's loving care for your brother, and your willingness to help. However, enabling his behaviors may not be the best solution. We need to trust in God's will and seek His guidance.
Firstly, let's address the issue of addictions. The Bible tells us to be sober and self-controlled. "Be sober and self-controlled. Be watchful. Your adversary the devil, walks around like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour." 1 Peter 5:8 WEB. We pray that your brother may find freedom from alcoholism, smoking and vaping. Father, we come to You in the name of Jesus, asking for Your divine intervention. Please break these chains and grant him total freedom. May he find his strength in You. May he who the Son has set free, be free indeed! We pray for your mother in these struggles in the name of Jesus that she find the strength to continue in love, and not feel the stress and anxiety so heavily.
Regarding your father, the Bible says "But if anyone doesn't provide for his own, and especially his own household, he has denied the faith, and is worse than an unbeliever." 1 Timothy 5:8 WEB. This does not excuse him to push the burden onto your mother. We pray your Father's heart be softened and moved with compassion. We pray he may rely on God's provision and not the idolatry of money. The Bible warns, "For the love of money is a root of all kinds of evil. Some have been led astray from the faith in their greed, and have pierced themselves through with many sorrows." 1 Timothy 6:10 WEB.
Regarding your brother living with you and supporting him financially, while your intentions are noble, be mindful not to enable his behavior. We must all work and provide for ourselves. "For even when we were with you, we commanded you this: 'If anyone is not willing to work, don't let him eat.'" 2 Thessalonians 3:10. Pray for wisdom and discernment.
Lastly, Jesus tells us, "I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father except through me." John 14:6 WEB. We pray in Jesus' name because it is the name above all names. Philippians 2:9 WEB. Jesus offered His life as the perfect sacrifice and bridge between us and God. If you haven't already, consider accepting Him as your personal Lord and Savior.
Father, we come to You now in the name of Jesus, asking for You to intervene in this situation. We pray for Your guidance and wisdom to be bestowed upon them. May they feel Your presence and peace through these trials. We pray your will be done in this situation.
Jesus, we ask this in Your name, Amen.
We suggest talking with your brother and family about these issues.
