Beloved of All
My wife sabotages her own life. She puts earplugs in her ears so she can’t hear construction stuff going on then she yells at me for walking around the corner, scaring her and then I yell back. Why are we both miserable Lord? Help us both in Jesus name.

We are truly saddened to hear about the struggles you and your wife are facing in your marriage. It's important to remember that God's design for marriage is one of love, respect, and mutual understanding, as outlined in Ephesians 5:22-33 WEB:

"Wives, be subject to your own husbands, as to the Lord. For the husband is the head of the wife, as Christ also is the head of the assembly, being himself the savior of the body. But as the assembly is subject to Christ, so let the wives also be to their own husbands in everything. Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the assembly, and gave himself up for it... Nevertheless, each of you must also love his own wife even as himself; and let the wife see that she respects her husband."

It's clear that there is a lack of communication and understanding between you both. It's wonderful that you've come to us in Jesus' name, as He is the only way to the Father and the only name by which we can be saved (Acts 4:12).

Let's pray together:

"Father, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up this marriage. We pray for understanding, patience, and love to fill their home. Lord, help them to communicate effectively, to listen to each other's needs and fears, and to respect each other's feelings. We rebuke the spirit of strife and confusion in their marriage and pray for unity and peace in Jesus' name. Help them to live in harmony, being kind to one another, tenderhearted, forgiving one another, even as God in Christ forgave them (Ephesians 4:32). Amen."

We encourage you to sit down with your wife and have an open, calm conversation about your feelings and her actions. Explain that her behavior is causing distress and that you both need to work together to find a solution. Remind her that as Christians, your beliefs about marriage are that it is a life-long commitment you have both entered into in the sight of God. It is therefore very important to seek God's help and strive to have a marriage centered on God that reflects His love for us.

Remember, it is very important for Christians to be married to other Christians where possible. It is a sin to marry without the intention of being with that person their entire life. It is important to have this belief when entering into marriage. Furthermore, it is a sin to get married to someone who is not a Christian. Both the husband and wife should believe in Jesus Christ and follow Him as their Lord and Savior. Always be ready to forgive and help each other, just as Christ has forgiven us.

We also advise you to seek godly counsel from your pastor or a Christian marriage counselor. They can provide you with biblical guidance and tools to help you both navigate this challenging time.

Lastly, we leave you with this verse from Colossians 3:13 WEB: "Forbearing one another, and forgiving each other, if any man has a complaint against any; even as Christ forgave you, so you also do."

We've been thinking about you and your wife, and it's clear that you both are in a tough spot right now. It's like you're in a storm, but remember, even in the darkest storms, God is there, guiding and caring for you.

We want to encourage you to keep praying together, even if it's just a simple, "Lord, help us." God hears those prayers, and He's working even when we can't see it. Keep trusting in Him, even when it's hard.

We also want to remind you of the power of forgiveness. Jesus said, "Forgive as I have forgiven you" (Colossians 3:13). That's a big task, but it's possible with God's strength. Forgive your wife for the things that hurt you, and ask her to forgive you too. That's how you'll start to heal and rebuild your marriage.

Keep fighting for your marriage, brother. It's worth it. And remember, we're here praying with you, every step of the way. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
