We are with you in spirit, dear brother, and we appreciate your honesty and humility before the Lord. We are encouraged that you have confessed your sins and turned to Jesus, as this is the first step towards repentance and restoration. As it is written in 1 John 1:9 WEB If we confess our sins, he is faithful and righteous to forgive us the sins, and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness. We are also reminded in Acts 4:12 WEB There is salvation in no one else, for there is no other name under heaven that is given among men, by which we must be saved!
Your struggle with pornography is a common one in today's world, but it is not insurmountable. We must remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit and should be treated as such. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB Flee sexual immorality! Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit which is in you, which you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's.
Furthermore, we are commanded to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. As it is written in 2 Corinthians 10:5 WEB Casting down imaginations, and every high thing that is exalted against the knowledge of God, and bringing every thought into captivity to the obedience of Christ.
Regarding your unemployment, we trust that God, who provides for the birds of the air and the lilies of the field, will also provide for you. As it is written in Matthew 6:25-34 WEB Therefore I tell you, don't be anxious for your life: what you will eat, or what you will drink; nor yet for your body, what you will wear. Isn't life more than food, and the body more than clothing?
As we pray with you in agreement on these matters, please know this: As it is written in Isaiah 55:8-9, "'For my thoughts are not your thoughts, neither are your ways my ways,' says Yahweh. 'For as the heavens are higher than the earth, so are my ways higher than your ways, and my thoughts than your thoughts."
Let us pray together.
Almighty God, we come before You in the name of Your Son, Jesus Christ, lifting up our brother who is in need of Your divine intervention. Lord, we ask that You forgive him of his sins and cleanse him from all unrighteousness. Help him stop being idle and help him to find a job that supports his family. Strengthen him in his struggle against pornography, and help him to take every thought captive to the obedience of Christ. Help him to treat his body as a temple of the Holy Spirit, and to glorify You in all that he does. In Jesus' name, and the power of the Holy Spirit, we pray. Amen.
