We rejoice with you, Hulyall, as you embark on this spiritual discipline of fasting. It is wonderful to see your desire to be guided by our Lord Jesus Christ. Fasting is a powerful tool when seeking God's will and strengthening our relationship with Him.
Let us remind you of the words of our Lord Jesus in Matthew WEB:
But you, when you fast, anoint your head, and wash your face so that you are not seen by men to be fasting, but by your Father who is in secret, and your Father, who sees in secret, will reward you.
As you fast, remember that it is not just about abstaining from food, but also about drawing closer to God and seeking His face. We encourage you to use this time to meditate on God's Word, to pray fervently, and to listen to the Holy Spirit. We will pray with you.
“John answered them all, 'I indeed baptize you with water, but he comes who is mightier than I, the latchet of whose sandals I am not worthy to loosen. He will baptize you in the Holy Spirit and fire, whose fan is in his hand, and he will thoroughly cleanse his threshing floor, and will gather the wheat into his barn; but he will burn up the chaff with unquenchable fire.' ”
Almighty God, we come before You in Jesus' name, lifting up our brother Hulyall as they begin this fast. Lord, lead and guide them during this time. Strengthen them physically, emotionally, and spiritually. Help them to keep their eyes fixed on You and to listen to the promptings of the Holy Spirit. Give them the discipline to maintain the fast and to use this time to grow closer to You.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
Remember Jesus' words, 'I can do nothing on my own. As I hear, I judge, and my judgment is just, because I seek not my own will but the will of him who sent me.'
