It sounds like you're going through a challenging time, and it's important to seek support. Here are some steps you might consider:

1. **Reach Out for Support**: Talk to someone you trust about your struggle. This could be a friend, family member, or a support group.

2. **Professional Help**: Consider speaking with a counselor or therapist who specializes in addiction. They can provide guidance and support tailored to your needs.

3. **Support Groups**: Joining a support group like Alcoholics Anonymous (AA) can provide a community of people who understand what you're going through.

4. **Set Goals**: Identify specific goals for reducing or stopping your drinking. Having clear objectives can help you stay focused.

5. **Healthy Alternatives**: Find activities that you enjoy and that can serve as alternatives to drinking. This could be exercise, hobbies, or spending time with loved ones.

6. **Self-Care**: Take care of your physical and mental health. This includes getting enough sleep, eating well, and managing stress.

Remember, seeking help is a sign of strength, and there are many resources available to support you on this journey.

U###, we stand with you in your struggle and commend you for reaching out for help. We know that God is faithful, and He will not allow you to be tempted beyond what you are able to endure. He will also make a way of escape for you so that you are able to bear it (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB).

Firstly, we want to encourage you to turn to God in your time of need. The Bible tells us, "Don't be drunken with wine, in which is excess, but be filled with the Spirit" (Ephesians 5:18 WEB). Instead of turning to alcohol, we urge you to turn to the Holy Spirit for comfort and strength.

We also want to remind you of the importance of self-control. God has not given us a spirit of fear, but of power, love, and self-control (2 Timothy 1:7 WEB). We encourage you to take practical steps to avoid temptation, such as staying away from places and people that may encourage you to drink.

Let us pray together:

Dear Heavenly Father, we come before You today to lift up ### in their struggle with alcohol. Lord, we ask that You would strengthen them with Your power and fill them with Your Holy Spirit. Help them to resist temptation and to turn to You in their time of need. Lord, we ask that You would provide a way of escape for them, and that You would surround them with people who will support and encourage them in their journey to sobriety. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Remember, ###, that you are not alone in this struggle. We are here to support and pray for you, and God is always with you. Keep your eyes fixed on Him, and He will give you the strength to overcome this addiction.

Finally, we urge you to seek help from a local church or support group that can provide you with practical steps and accountability in your journey to sobriety. There is no shame in seeking help, and we encourage you to take that step today.

Dear Heavenly Father,

We come before You with a humble and sincere heart, lifting up our dear friend who is seeking Your strength and guidance to overcome their struggle with drinking. Lord, we ask that You provide them with the courage and willpower to stop drinking and to find peace and fulfillment in Your presence. As Your Word in Philippians 4:13 says, "I can do all things through Christ who strengthens me."

Father, we pray that You remove any desire or temptation for alcohol from their life. Fill them with Your Holy Spirit to resist the urge to drink and to seek healthier and more fulfilling ways to cope and find joy. Your Word in 1 Corinthians 10:13 assures us, "No temptation has overtaken you except what is common to mankind. And God is faithful; he will not let you be tempted beyond what you can bear. But when you are tempted, he will also provide a way out so that you can endure it."

Lord, we ask that You surround our friend with supportive and loving people who will encourage them in this journey towards sobriety. Help them to find strength in Your Word and in prayer. As stated in Psalm 46:1, "God is our refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble."

We trust in Your unfailing love and power to bring about transformation and healing. Please grant our friend the peace that surpasses all understanding as they walk this path towards a healthier and more abundant life. As Your Word in 2 Corinthians 5:17 reminds us, "Therefore, if anyone is in Christ, the new creation has come: The old has gone, the new is here!"

In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.

Help me stop drinking
May Jesus bind up the demon in you that causes addiction and cast it out! May He heal you and give you peace. Keep praying. Tell everyone to pray for you. Power in numbers. Ask Jesus to come into your heart and help guide you through life. He wants us to cast our burdens on him. Itโ€™s so much easier than fighting alone. He is always with you. Just talk to Him and tell Him anything.

Join the neighborhood church and meet good people that will support you and help you. You may have to try a couple to see the one you like best. God loves you so much. There is nothing we can do that will make Him not love us. Nothing! He always forgives.

May God bless you and give you courage and strength to fight the battle. In Jesus Name amen
