We commend you, Daerdaoford, for your humble and sincere prayer, acknowledging your struggle and seeking God's help. We join you in prayer and offer some biblical encouragement and guidance.
Firstly, we acknowledge that our bodies are indeed temples of the Holy Spirit. As it is written in 1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB, "Or don't you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God's." Therefore, it is essential to honor God with our bodies by taking care of them and making healthy choices.
Secondly, we must remember that temptation is not sin. Jesus himself was tempted, as described in Hebrews 4:15 WEB, "For we don't have a high priest who can't be touched with the feeling of our infirmities, but one who has been in all points tempted like we are, yet without sin." The sin comes when we give in to temptation. But God is faithful, and He will not allow us to be tempted beyond what we can bear. As 1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB says, "No temptation has taken you except what is common to man. God is faithful, who will not allow you to be tempted above what you are able, but will with the temptation also make the way of escape, that you may be able to endure it."
We pray for you, Daerdaoford, that God will fill you with His Holy Spirit, granting you the strength, wisdom, and self-control to overcome your food addictions and make healthy choices. May He guide you to find comfort in His presence and His Word, rather than turning to food. We pray that He will help you to find joy in wholesome foods that fuel your body and spirit, and that He will be your rock and fortress as you navigate this journey toward health and well-being.
We encourage you to meditate on God's Word daily, especially those passages that speak of His faithfulness, strength, and promises for us. Remember that it is only by the name of Jesus that we have access to God, as it is written in John 14:6 WEB, "Jesus said to him, 'I am the way, the truth, and the life. No one comes to the Father, except through me.'"
Lastly, we encourage you to seek support from fellow believers, as there is great power in a community of faith. As Ecclesiastes 4:9-10 WEB says, "Two are better than one, because they have a good reward for their labor. For if they fall, the one will lift up his fellow; but woe to him who is alone when he falls, and doesn't have another to lift him up."
We stand with you in prayer and believe that with God's strength, all things are possible. In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
