Blindness is usually due to missing or damaged structures in the eye or a damaged or missing optic nerve. A release of power can create new structures in the body. I once prayed for a patient who was blind in both eyes. I used an approach similar to the one described above. I held my hands near the woman's eyes and commanded them to see, and I commanded the eye structures to be made new. I believed I was releasing God's power.

Every few minutes, I asked if she noticed any changes. She reported seeing "pools of light" forming in her field of view-- something she had never experienced before. As long as I kept my hands near her eyes and commanded them to see, the pools of light became larger, and eventually she could make out shapes. Her eyes were being healed.

At the time of this encounter, I didn't understand how power for miracles was released. My habit was placing my hands near the affected body part and making appropriate commands. I was releasing power and exercising authority simultaneously...
