Maleek Johnson
Disciple of Prayer
Hello all,
My name is Shaqwaun but I normally go by Maleek. I am a prior veteran who loves to help others not only in the time of need but from the heart. I do not look for anything in return nor do I ask for favors. I want to start off by asking you all to pray for me and my family as we are facing hard times in our life. So many things have happen to me as I served in the military, I lost my mother in a car accident and a year later I lost a daughter due to a heart failure. Not too long ago I lost my sister who was at the time 21 years old of sickle cell, my brother two years after her at 28 of the same sickness. All with was on Labor. Two years after my brother went on home with the Lord my oldest sister died of a failed kidney and heart failure, she was 41.
As a young man who was raised in an abusive childhood I never gave up faith and I always believed that the Lord will make a way for me and my family. In the first week of January on the 9th, 2016 my oldest son came up from Mississippi to live with me and my wife here in Virginia. Not knowing anything about his health history he and I decided to open up him a checking account with Navy Fed early that morning. After leaving Navy Fed we sat in the car and I told him that I was proud of him and I thanked him for wanting me to help aid him through college. He was to start college in West Virginia January 29, 2016 unfortunately he never made it.
After dropping him off from the bank my wife and I told him that we were going to the store and we would be back. Not even 30 minutes passed we got a call from our 15 year old son screaming over the phone and telling us that our son Deshun had collapsed on the basement fall and died. I could not believe what I was hearing so we immediately rushed back to the house. By the time we arrived the streets in our neighborhood was blocked off. As we approached the house I looked up at the sky and said not now Lord he is your child and he meant no harm to anyone. All he wanted to do was come here and better his life by going to school. The police officer told me and my wife that our son did not make it. As he was talking to us he told us that our 15 year old son googled "How to do CPR" and he applied it on Deshun. Later I heard someone yell, โWe got a pulseโ and they rushed him to the Hospital where he was in a comma for two months on life support.
His brain had swelled and the doctors said that there was nothing more they could do. So they told us to go home and think about our next step. As the night went by my wife woke up the next morning and said that something came to her and told her to tell me to transfer him to Walter Reed Army National Hospital because they are rated for being the best in the DC, Maryland and Virginia area. Once he arrived they took me and the family inside a conference room and told us that they have done all that they can do and there was nothing more they could do. The Doctors told us that they would give us three days to decide. We went back home and at that time I as we were driving back home the tears began to stream down my face and I did not know what to do. Because I was so angry I lost faith but never question the LORD for nothing that ever happen to me. When people would come up to me they would say have Faith because I was so angry I would l tell them that I donโt believe in Faith I only go by Belief. At that time because of all the death that occurred in my family I never knew why things were happing the way they were.
On the second day I went back to the hospital and this time they were closing the base down because of the snow storm. I knew I only had a few minutes to say what I had to say to my son before they would call us for our decision. I stood by his side and I touched his head and said these words โLORD it is told that YOU raised the dead, YOU healed the sick, YOU made the blind see and YOU made the cripple walk. This is YOUR child and he means no harm to anyone, please stand over his head and blow life back into his body. โAfter saying that I look at my son and notice a tear falling down his face but he had no movement in his body. I leaned down, kissed him on the forehead and walked out.
On that third day my phone was blowing up but I never answered it, my wife told me that you should answer your phone to see what they want. I told her, the only reason they are calling is for us to decide what we are going to do with Deshun. Finally I picked up my cellphone and called back, this time it was his nurse calling that called me from her personal phone and she started yelling at me over the phone saying why are you not answering your phone, she went on to say that the reason for me trying to contact you is because your son woke up out of his comma and started looking around crying. I told her to repeat what she had just said. She said your son has come out of his comma. I told her that I would be there but please allow me an hour because of our location. When we arrived at the hospital the storm was coming down real hard and we had to stay with him overnight. The doctor look at us and they said, โAll these years that I have work here I have never seen nothing like this beforeโ I looked at him and smiled and said me neither but what I do know is that it was the LORD and I have FAITH. My wife looked at me with tears in her eyes and smiled.
I asked that you all pray for my Son and Family as we are now facing hard times and in a Financial Hardship. Our bills, mortgage and car notes are totally behind and we do not have any further help or assistances to help aid us. My son feels as if it is his fault but I told him that things happen and we will be okay. The devil is trying to tear me down by working through my family and he knows that they are my weakness. But as long as I have the LORD our GOD there is nothing that will make me question my LORD. I will continue to tithe and help others because of what HE has done me and my family. When we ask for help from our family they all turned their backs and when my wife asked her father for support he never returned her calls. I told my wife to not worry the lord will make a way for us to get back on our feet. By the way my wife who is 36 has been a Teacher for over 15 years had quit her job to help take care of our son. I ask that you all pray for us financially and mentally.
Thanks
