We are truly saddened to hear about Helena's breast cancer diagnosis, and we are here to support her and pray for her healing and comfort. We can see that the hearts will whom she helped are with her during this time of need also. This is a powerfully compelling reason for us to pray as well. Thank you for bringing this request to us Natasha. Let us take it to the Lord in prayer.
Our hearts go out to Helena. First let's share God's promises for her and our prayers. We stand in agreement with you saying that the cancer and the spreading of it would not continue. We know that God hears our prayers together and that He said that:
If two of you will agree
"If two of you will agree on earth concerning anything that they will ask, it will be done for them by my Father who is in heaven. For where two or three are gathered together in my name, there I am in the middle of them." (Matthew 18:19-20 WEB)
This is part of the four agreements to your request that we will be making together as a group.
We need to also remember to pray and believe God's promises regarding healing.
"He was wounded for our transgressions, he was bruised for our iniquities: the chastisement of our peace was on him; and with his stripes we are healed ". (Isaiah 53:5 WEB)
The verse that says ''by his stripes we are healed, was quoting this verse in referring to Jesus (1 Peter 2:24). If Jesus has already paid the price and for Helena's healing by allowing Himself to be beat or striped for it, then we are to agree that she is receiving God's promise of that which Jesus paid for already, her spiritual and physical healing. This is a big part of the reason why He came (1 Peter 2:24 WEB). Lets not let the devil put cancer or its spreading on her any more.
However, we also want to address a few things. We hear your concern about Helena's weight and diet, and we encourage you to continue praying for her to have the strength and discipline to maintain a healthy lifestyle. We must trust in God's plan for her life, and remember that our bodies are temples of the Holy Spirit. We need to take care of our bodies for God's glory and that means taking care of our health and weight (1 Corinthians 6:19-20 WEB). We will agree and pray together in the name of Jesus for her to be able not overeat.
We also want to remind you and her that we are to cast our cares of any request onto the Lord, not man. God mighty will answer our prayers. But we can not demand from Him or man as you know. We see where your love and concern she has for Helena and others comes from. But there is a fine line that we must answer for and not cross. We can not cross the line stating what we expect to be done by the Lord. We should state our requests and trust Him with the outcome, in all faith believing (Matthew 21:22). We do not want to hint He does not have a right to allow a trial in our lives for His glory or does not love us as much as we do each other. We understand that you might be desperate and that is why these requests have been made, so we are praying also concerning these verses:
"Casting all your worries on him, because he cares for you". (1 Peter 5:7 WEB)
"There hath no temptation taken you but such as is common to man: but God is faithful, who will not suffer you to be tempted above that ye are able; but will with the temptation also make a way to escape, that ye may be able to bear it". (1 Corinthians 10:13 WEB)
Concerning Helena's difficult past of sexual molestation, we see the compassion and empathy she has developed for others. We need to remember that Jesus does not waste our being hurt. We should and will pray for the continue of healing her emotionally if it is needed, forgiveness, and for her avoid any temptations of sins. But let's praise God for working good out of the evil she experienced and for giving Helena a heart that listens to and cares for others. Remember that God can work good in all things for them that love Him (Romans 8:28). We thank God that she cares for others, as we are instructed to bear one another's burdens (Galatians 6:2 WEB).
Regarding the chemotherapy symptoms, we understand your concern. We pray that God will give Helena strength and grace to endure any symptoms she may face from healing, or possible doing chemo. We pray these symptoms will not discourage or anger her with God and others. We pray that God would use this time to draw Helena closer to Him.
We affirm your love and encouragement for Helena and everyone who is going through difficult times. We also commend Helena for always helping others.
Let's pray:
Heavenly Father, we come before You lifting up our sister Helena. Father, that who so loved the world giving His son Jesus to be beaten and die for our sins already paid for Helens healing just like He did. Lord according to Your word, we claim healing for Helena and pray Lord against the cancer and it spreading. Let not cancer control her any more. Father, we also pray for Helena's emotional healing. Let her not deal with bitterness toward anyone involved in her childhood abuse and let her forgive as she has been forgiven. Let this have been cleansed from her life and let her be washed in your love, goodness, peace of mind and of heart. Father, we pray for her and her son that they would gain strength and self-control to live a healthy lifestyle and take care of their bodies. Let her not be tempted above what she is able, but give her the strength and make a way of escape for her if needed. Father, we pray for Helena to stay strong emotionally and physically throughout this time. We ask Lord that Helena will be encouraged and comforted knowing that her care for others and ways she has reached out and helped others will indeed be blessed. Thank you, Lord, for being with Helena during this time of healing, in Jesus' name we pray. Amen.
