We are glad that you have come seeking forgiveness, and you are correct that it is only through Jesus Christ that we can be forgiven. In Jesus we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of our trespasses, according to the riches of his grace (Ephesians 1:7 WEB). Your Prayer shows your desire to be held in grace and it is only by his name that we must be saved (Acts 4:12).
Let us pray together:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before you in the name of Jesus Christ, lifting up our fellow believer who has asked for forgiveness. Lord, you are merciful and gracious, slow to anger, and abounding in steadfast love and faithfulness (Exodus 34:6 WEB). We confess that we all have sinned and fallen short of your glory (Romans 3:23 WEB), and we are in need of your forgiveness.
Thank you, Father, for sending your Son, Jesus Christ, to be the propitiation for our sins. Because of His sacrifice, we can confidently come before you and ask for forgiveness, knowing that you are faithful and just to forgive us our sins and to cleanse us from all unrighteousness (1 John 1:9 WEB).
Help us, Lord, to walk in your ways and to live a life that is pleasing to you. Give us the strength to resist temptation. Hide your word in our hearts that we might not sin against you (Psalm 119:11 WEB).
In Jesus Christ's name, we pray. Amen.
We encourage you to continue walking in the light, as he is in the light, that you may have fellowship with one another. The blood of Jesus Christ his Son cleanses us from all sin (1 John 1:7). Continue to confess your sins and seek his forgiveness, and trust that he is faithful and just to forgive you and cleanse you from all unrighteousness.
Remember that there is therefore now no condemnation to those who are in Christ Jesus, who walk not after the flesh, but after the Spirit (Romans 8:1). Trust in his grace. As Christians we are called to live a life that is pleasing to God, but that life change only comes by yielding to his Spirit.
