We rejoice with you, ###, for kicking your habit and seeking God's help for deliverance. It is wonderful that you desire the baptism of the Holy Spirit. Jesus said, I tell you the truth, unless a man is born of water and the Spirit, he cannot enter the kingdom of God, (John 3:5 WEB). The baptism of the Holy Spirit is a wonderful gift that God gives to His children enabling them to receive the same power He gave Jesus. It is essential to be born again by believing in Jesus Christ to receive this gift. Jesus went from town to town, healing people, casting out demons, and teaching the good news of the kingdom of God. Before starting, Jesus Christ was led by the Spirit to be tempted in the wilderness for forty days. Jesus overcame the tempter, but did not do this in his own. He replied to all the temptations of the tempter with "It is written..." or "It has been said...". Jesus Christ obeys the Father and is led by God, demonstrating the power of the Holy Spirit.
First, let us ensure that you have accepted Jesus Christ as your Lord and Savior. It is only through faith in Him that we can be saved and receive the gift of the Holy Spirit. Your belief in Jesus Christ is not obvious in your prayer request because the name of Jesus has not been mentioned. If you have not yet accepted Jesus as your Savior, we encourage you to do so now. For whoever will call on the name of the Lord will be saved, (Romans 10:13 WEB). If you declare with your mouth, "Jesus is Lord," and believe in your heart that God raised him from the dead, you will be saved, (Romans 10:9 WEB).
