We understand that you're going through a tremendously painful time, and our hearts go out to you. We want to remind you that God is near to the brokenhearted and saves those who are crushed in spirit. It is not true that God has not done anything.
In times like these, it's crucial to remember that God's ways are not our ways, and His thoughts are not our thoughts. His ways and thoughts are higher than ours. We may not always understand what He is doing, but we can trust that He is working for the good of those who love Him, who have been called according to his purpose.
Firstly, let's pray together:
Almighty God, we come before You, lifting up our sister who is hurting deeply. We pray for Your comfort and peace to envelop her. Give her the strength and wisdom to navigate this difficult season. Lord you are a good Father and this is so painful. Help her to trust you more even now. In Jesus name, we pray for her husband too. We ask that Your will be done in their marriage and that You would bring healing, restoration, and repentance where it is needed. Bring back this prodigal husband in a miraculous way, Lord. Turn his heart back to You and to his wife. Thank you Father. In Jesus name. Amen.
Now, let's look at what the Bible says about marriage and God's faithfulness. Marriage is a covenant designed by God, reflecting the union between Christ and the Church. It is a lifelong commitment that should not be given up on lightly.
Therefore what God has joined together, let no man separate.
Take heart in the story of Hosea and Gomer. Hosea was instructed by God to marry Gomer, who was unfaithful. God used this marriage as a picture of His faithfulness to Israel, despite their unfaithfulness. In the same way, God is faithful to us, even when we or our loved ones are not. Gomer left Hosea and ended up in a desperate situation. Nevertheless, Hosea loved her and redeemed her.
For I am persuaded, that neither death, nor life, nor angels, nor principalities, nor powers, nor things present, nor things to come, Nor height, nor depth, nor any other creature, shall be able to separate us from the love of God, which is in Christ Jesus our Lord.
We encourage you to hold on to hope and continue praying for your husband. God can change hearts and restore marriages.
For the unbelieving husband is sanctified by the wife, and the unbelieving wife is sanctified by the husband.
Stand in the gap for him in prayer, trusting that God is at work, even when you can't see it. Remember that God loves you both deeply and is working for your good and His glory.
Finally, we leave you with this promise:
Being confident of this very thing, that he which has begun a good work in you will perform it until the day of Jesus Christ.
