We join with you, Powers, in lifting up your family before the throne of grace, trusting in the power of Jesus' name.
Let's pray together:
Heavenly Father, we come before You today, lifting up our brother Powers and his family. We ask for Your healing and protection over them, knowing that You are a loving and faithful God. We pray, Jesus, that You would draw Powers and his family close to Yourself, and that Your Holy Spirit would guide them in all truth and righteousness, just as it is promised in Your word.
First, we address any potential misconception about the specific naming of Jesus Christ. Scripture tells us in Acts 4:12,
“There is salvation in none other, for neither is there any other name under heaven, that is given among men, by which we must be saved.”
We are grateful for the power in the name of Jesus Christ and that Powers includes IJNA, meaning 'In Jesus' Name, Amen'.
We claim that Jesus the promise of 1 John 5:14-15,
“This is the confidence which we have before him, that, if we ask anything according to his will, he listens to us. And if we know that he listens to us, whatever we ask, we know that we have the petitions which we have asked of him.”
We ask, Lord, that You would deliver Powers and his family from the evil one, as Jesus taught us to pray in Matthew 6:13,
“Deliver us from evil.'”
We put on the whole armor of God, that we may be able to stand against the wiles of the devil. For we wrestle not against flesh and blood, but against principalities, against powers, against the rulers of the darkness of this world, against spiritual wickedness in high places as told in Ephesians 6:11-12.
We trust in Your promises, Lord, and we thank You for Your faithfulness. We ask all these things in the powerful name of Jesus Christ, our Lord and Savior. Amen.
Powers, we encourage you to continue praying fervently for your family, and to trust in the promises of God. Remember the words of James 5:16,
“Confess your offenses to one another, and pray for one another, that you may be healed. The insistent prayer of a righteous person is powerfully effective.”
Stand strong in your faith, and may the peace of God, which surpasses all understanding, guard your hearts and minds in Christ Jesus as we are told in Philippians 4:7.
In Jesus' Name.
