Heavenly Father,
We come before You with hearts full of gratitude and praise for Your mighty hand that calmed the storms last night from Hurricane Beryl. We acknowledge Your sovereignty and power over all creation, as it is written, "He stilled the storm to a whisper; the waves of the sea were hushed" (Psalm 107:29). Thank You, Lord, for Your protection and mercy.
Yet, we are also mindful of the storms that swept from Texas to Indiana, causing damage and loss. Lord, we lift up those who have been affected by these storms. Comfort those who have lost loved ones, and provide for those who have suffered damage to their homes and livelihoods. Your Word assures us that You are "a refuge and strength, an ever-present help in trouble" (Psalm 46:1). May these people experience Your presence and provision in every way they need.
Father, we ask for Your guidance and wisdom for the authorities and relief workers who are assisting in the recovery efforts. Grant them strength and discernment as they work to restore what has been lost. May Your love and compassion be evident through their actions.
We thank You, Father, for all You do for us, for Your unending grace and mercy. We trust in Your promises and hold fast to Your Word. In Jesus' mighty name, we pray.
Amen.
