We understand that you are going through a difficult situation, and we are here to pray with you and provide biblical guidance.
Firstly, it is important to remember that God's will is sovereign, and His plans are always for our good, even when they do not align with our desires. In this situation, it is encouraging that you have acknowledged that you cannot force his love or desire for you. This shows a level of submission to God's will. We are called to love one another, but we cannot control or manipulate others into loving us.
As you seek understanding, remember that only God truly knows the heart.
It is commendable that you are concerned about potential negative influences on his life. However, it is crucial to remember that we should not blame others for someone's actions. Each person is responsible for their own actions and decisions.
We must be careful not to allow our love for someone to become an idol in our lives. Our primary love should be for God, and our love for others should be an overflow of our love for Him.
For a man and woman to be in love and courting, they should be looking towards marriage.
When dating, we are constantly examining and evaluating a person to ensure they are a good candidate for marriage. There is nothing wrong with that, but it is good to remember this.
Being unequally yoked, as in a believer married to an unbeliever, should be avoided.
Even if the person is a Christian, they should not be living in sin, such as fornication. Sexual sin is a sin against our own bodies and we are to flee fornication.
Therefore, let us flee sexual immorality. Every sin that a man does is outside the body, but he who commits sexual immorality sins against his own body. Or don’t you know that your body is a temple of the Holy Spirit who is in you, whom you have from God? You are not your own, for you were bought with a price. Therefore glorify God in your body and in your spirit, which are God’s. 1 Corinthians 6:18-20 WEB
Remember that relationships can only be fulfilling and godly when they are centered on Christ.
Let's pray:
Dear Heavenly Father,
We come before You, lifting up our sister in Christ who is experiencing heartache and confusion. We pray that You will reveal the truth to her loved one regarding any manipulation from outside influences. We do not pray for manipulation of his will, but if it is Your will, Lord, that they should be together in marriage, we pray that he will be freed from any external influences that may be clouding his judgment and that he may be guided back to his true feelings.
We pray that You will give her the strength and patience to wait on Your perfect timing. Help her to trust in Your plan for their lives, and may Your will be done.
Lord, we also pray that You will guard her heart and mind in Christ Jesus. Help her to keep her eyes fixed on You, knowing that You are the source of her strength and love.
If there are areas in which she does not align with Your will, reveal it to her.
In Jesus' name, we pray. Amen.
